Cover Reveal! Ashen Winter by Mike Mullin
I don't usually do this kind of thing BUT I so have to make an exception for this book.
Ashfall was one of my favorite 2011 books and being able to read an advanced copy on Netgalley didn't help, as I read it on May and the book released on October.
Then I had and still am waiting the year between Ashfall and Ashen Winter...it's a long long lonely wait...

Enough of me.
Check out the amazing cover of Ashen Winter-Ashfall book #2-
Isn't it AWESOME it portrays so much and if I'm right it has a LOT to do with the book itself.
Here's the description of the book
(Slight SPOILERS for book #1)
~It's been over six months since the eruption of the Yellowstone supervolcano. Alex and Darla have been staying with Alex's relatives, trying to cope with the new reality of the primitive world so vividly portrayed in Ashfall, the first book in this series. It's also been six months of waiting for Alex's parents to return from Iowa. Alex and Darla decide they can wait no longer and must retrace their journey into Iowa to find and bring back Alex's parents to the tenuous safety of Illinois. But the landscape they cross is even more perilous than before, with life-and-death battles for food and power between the remaining communities.
When the unthinkable happens, Alex must find new reserves of strength and determination to survive.~
