-Review- With All My Soul by Rachel Vincent

Image
Goodreads Shortie: What does it mean when your school is voted the most dangerous in America? It's time to kick some hellion butt... My Thoughts? I have to say, being me and feeling all the things I feel while reading a book. I have never EVER, in all my years as a reader, gone through something as powerful and as traumatic and as amazing as what I went through while reading With All My Soul. I take my shoes and hat off for author Rachel Vincent, who not only managed to keep me hooked in a series 7 books long but also made me forget all about the really scary sequel syndrome, the awful thing of having to give up on a series... And all the other bad things that might happen when reading a series. She not only made me forget but believe. To this day I have yet to read a book of hers (YA, since I've yet to read all of her adultPR ones) that hasn't left me speechless, breathless and begging for more. And with this last book came not only that awesome feeling ...

I thought it lost...

-BookPics is Curious- What Book Did You Just Finish?

Image
Oh my gOd!! I've been kind of on some sort of reading roll... I've been all over the place yet in only one place. I've cried so hard because of books this past week but also smiled and screamed and teared up and melted and you know, your typical Alba while in the action or process of reading. And the books I've just recently finished reading have gotten me all worked up because of them that now that I'm off to start some new ones... The bar is kind of on a really really high scale. The masterpieces, the pure awesome art, the incredible delectable words and worlds I've read written by the talented and blessed authors... They have come and scrambled with my mind and my heart and seriously? Being honest, they've also messed with my rating and reviewing view... How can I continue rating wish such a simple rating system? When presented with THOSE books?! THOSE stories? I have no right and yet... That's what I've got. The ONLY thing that I'...

-reading thoughts- Reaper by Rachel Vincent

Image
[Non edited] As if I already haven't enough reasons to L.O.V.E. Tod this really makes me love him all the way more!! much much more! quotes such as:: “He’s not like you, Tod. Aside from a couple of notable exceptions, you tend to think things through, but Nash is ruled by his heart—” I nearly choked on laughter. “I think the organ he’s ruled by is a little farther south, Mom.” Made me smile so much that I though my lips where going to split or something!!we get to know so much better Tod's personality and find out why he is how and who he is... Love his protectiveness over his little brother Nash...and one big boom for me in this book is we find out Nash's middle name! wich let me tell you I didn't expect it to be THAT ONE at all!! saceifices and secrets are some strong point by the end of this book...give it a chance!! I give this novella 5fotitos= ~Sobs hard~Too good to be true! April 8th 2011

-review- Before I Wake by Rachel Vincent

Image
~*~ Goodreads ~*~ Amazon ~* ~ ********** This is the story of how I lost my life... Wait. No!! This is a REVIEW or you know, the chronicle of my life while reading the book, my feelings throughout my reading... The thing is... I died so many times while reading this single book I think I'm not even human anymore, not that I'd care to be a reaper knowing I'd join Tod ~sigh~ and Kay :D But before I start... just so you know... even the 'Dedication' of this book is AMAZING and almost brought me to tears~happy ones~ :'( It just shows how Rachel appreciates each and every reader of her books out there, and I felt cherished and loved right there on the spot...reading that dedication... I stayed up even later than normal that night to continue my reading of this book! ~But Tod was the same. Only better~ There hasn't been a series I have read in which ALL characters are described in such a way and that their lives and actions affect tremendously...

Cover Obsession is a feature here on  BookPics . -I really don't know if anyone else does it as I do but I'm not trying to steal any other ideas out there- In which I tell you what new book covers I'm completely in love with, pinning for, drooling over, tearing-up over, going all  OH CLOUD!  on and all the other AMAZING-FANTASTIC-AWESOME-BOOKPIC-LY verbs and adjectives and adverbs you can think of that just simply aren't enough to describe how I feel towards said covers so,  I just go ahead and OBSESS over them :D ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Oh boy! -reread thoughts- If I Die by Rachel Vincent

Image
Argh. Writing reviews and thoughts and stuff about my feelings for books while reading them is turning harder and harder... But I can't help and repeat once again, how amazing this book was/is. I've read this book more times than I care to admit. And still... My heart was broken earlier in the series BUT this book right here is the turning point for, let's just say. EVERYTHING. I can't believe how in the world author Rachel Vincent came up with a story so extraordinarily original. This book kept me guessing and guessing. I had such a hard time trying not to read the finishing lines... I won the battle. Barely. When I thought nothing worse could happen to Kay, it happened. When I thought her heart couldn't be any more broken, it was. When I thought the person who had sworn her-things-would keep-his/her-word, the person didn't. I thought and thought and thought about so many bad things happening but never in my wildest imaginations would I have gues...

-reread thoughts- My Soul to Steal by Rachel Vincent

Image
This was the first out of all the Soul Screamers books that I reviewed. And my heart jumped and 'bruised my sternum' as Rachel writes, when SHE HERSELF linked her followers and shared my review. She thought it funny ^_^ which threw me over the moon -again- as if the book wasn't enough. So if you'd like to read my -really raw- review, I wrote it before becoming a blogger, here's the LINK . Anyways. Oh this was a sweet read. A piece of heaven. A really nightmarish piece of heaven. But still. I found myself, more often than not, wondering why in the clouds I hadn't noticed all the hints that Rachel put, all the pieces of bread she threw for us to follow... I love this book's Kaylee so very much. I love love love her! Oh Nash~sighs~ Even after ALL I still rooted for you. I believed and shouted and cried out and did all things a book-reader girl could possibly do to cheer on a fictional character. Em, I LOVE that you take part of this book ...

-reread thoughts- My Soul to Keep by Rachel Vincent

Image
Oh WOW and when I say WOW I mean WOW. Literally. I can't believe that after such an awful experience rereading My Soul to Save, this one was completely the opposite! I can't believe how much I LOOOOOOOOOOOVED this book. Kaylee still has the hero complex but while in MSTSave I hated it, in this one I simply loved it. There really is no other word I can think of right now. I'm still Team Nash...barely...up until the middle of the book...then I'm Team NOTHING because neither Nash nor Tod earned my trust at the end of this book. This, for me, is one of the hardest times Kay goes through and I loved that Em has a really strong presence while the story develops as well as Kay's dad... Have I told you how much I love both Kay's dad & Nash's mom?  There really aren't many fictional/fantasy parents out there that stick with me even long after finishing the book. They simply rock the plot and add that spice that not many can manage. So, hats off a...

-reread thoughts- My Soul to Save by Rachel Vincent

Image
This is the sound of my... frustration.... ~AN->Again, I am not reviewing as I would any other book.  This books hold a special place in my heart~ Oh God. This I-don't-know-what-number-of-reread time of reading...was a long and suffering one. This is officially my LEAST favorite book of the series...this means of course that all are my favorites and that I love them all but I love this one less than the others. I reread this book having in mind what author Rachel Vincent once said about this book.  I wanted so desperately to keep in mind what she said, that this book is a pivotal one... But in the end... I just couldn't stop thinking that this is exactly were everything goes downward for Kaylee and everybody near her. Listing My Reasons of Freaking-Out * I have to say this is the book in which I LOVE NASH the most. He's so protective and loving and caring and it shows that he really just wants only what's best for Kaylee and tries to keep her on tra...

-reread thoughts- My Soul To Take by Rachel Vincent

Image
This is the very first time for me doing a kind of review for a reread of a book. When I found out that Fiktshun was having a reading challenge for none other than the Soul Screamers series I just HAD to sign up. I've never participated on a reading challenge before but THIS right here was one of the 2 perfect  opportunities  that presented themselves to me this year. (You can still sign up for the challenge by clicking on the left sidebar button.) ~Sighs~ Where to begin? Hehe don't worry this won't be a long rant. This is, I think, my 7nth time rereading this books...ever since I found them randomly on YA-books list on Scribd I knew I had to have them. The books mean a lot to me since I read them before I became a reviewer ^_^ and I still hold them close to my heart. Rereading this yet again helped me remember why I fell in love with the story and it's characters in the first place.  Why I always have and always will be a huge admirer of the heroine ...

Joining the Soul Screamers Reading Challenge

Image
I know, I know. You guys are all like, Alba, really? Reading those books yet AGAIN? Well ladies, gentlemen, beautiful people, I'm here to tell you that the answer to that interrogative is a round, big, completely cute  YES~with a lot of exclamation marks~ !!!!!!!!!!! Rachel@Fiktshun is hosting her very first reading challenge this year. And what other better way to start than with the complete trauma of mine, Rachel Vincent's Soul Screamers series . There are exactly 5 whole books out with 3 novellas to go with them, and even an omnibus with the first novella and 2 first books. The challenge will last only until the next installment of the series comes out which is set to be released on June this year. You don't have to be a blogger to join the challenge, just some way to post a review(goodreads, facebook, etc.) It doesn't matter if you have already reviewed the books you can still join in the fun and maybe post about the rereading experience. ...
