-review- Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas

Image
- Goodreads - "My name is Celaena Sardothien. But it makes no difference if my name's Celaena or Lillian or Bitch, because I'd still beat you, no matter what you call me." So... I think I made a terrible mistake by making this my second book read by this author after her ACOTAR book. I liked this book. I did. I like the story. The tinge of sass it had, the world it made me go to, the way the characters developed at exactly the right pace. Not becoming too wise too suddenly or too good too slow. I enjoyed that but also... I couldn't really enjoy it thoroughly and that's really on me and my personal taste because I'm a sucker for first-person POV as opposed to any others, doesn't matter the tense of it as long as it's 1st person. Alas, this wasn't so it took me two days exactly to really get into the book, two days and maybe 10 chapters, give or take, at one moment I even thought I would just have to give up. I'm so glad I d...

I love reading! Do you? -BookPics Is Curious-

I never really thought bad things, really really bad things could happen to such good people. Not that this "bad" thing is anything new. But I always thought that something would give, you know? Like, life would be a little easier, friends would be easier to come by, money would be much more reachable. And a lot more. But now, my mom's been sick since fall last year and I thought it would somewhat change me, change me and my aversion to socialize, change me and my fear of new things, change me and my low self esteem, change me and my struggling to make decisions, change me and a whole family. The only thing so far that's really changed is my mom, I've seen her grow slowly and constantly and without a pause, weaker. Her family abandoning her and my dad's family being there when I thought they wouldn't really. I've seen my dad get years older in a matter of months, both my sisters and I live in denial. And my relationship with God take a nosedive....

-BookPics Recommends- Contemporary #1

Image
I'll be trying to post these kinds of posts at least once a week.  Every week I'll try to spice things up a bit by recommending you different kinds of genres from different books and obviously different authors. The day I post it will be all about an specific genre and then an specific book or series from just one author so that I can have more authors to recommend later on when I go back to that genre :D Beware though, it's hard for me to read recently published books so my recommendations might not be the most up to date ones but they will certainly be from all the books I've read :D I haven't read THAT many but still I've got a few that I fell head-over-heels in love with and cannot get enough of them, never. So here it goes. To start... Contemporary! What better way to do this than by recommending you the first YA contemporary book I ever read! If I Stay by Gayle Forman *** Just listen, Adam says with a voice that sounds...

I seriously seriously shouldn't even say I'm a blogger anymore!! It's been FOREVER since I posted and I feel awful. Not because I haven't posted but because I have so much to say and I haven't taken the time to actually write it down somewhere, anywhere. And then of course comes the part where I completely forgot about my blogoversary last month and this month as well so I might as well just cry in a corner for the rest of my life. I'm so so sorry -pets blog- my life has been completely and utterly hectic this year working on some paperwork and then moving and then moving again and traveling and dreaming and dreaming some more that I haven't even had the chance to read much which simply put, sucks. I miss blogging. I miss rambling on and on about silly things and not so silly things. I miss sharing with the world my thoughts on books I loved or didn't love that much, I miss stalking my favorite authors so much!! I miss stalking my favorite blog...

-Review- Alice in Zombieland by Gena Showalter

Image
Goodreads shortie: She won’t rest until she’s sent every walking corpse back to its grave. Forever. Goodreads Amazon The Book Depository  Should ----a word of anguish rather than consolation. Well there goes my aversion to reading books about zombies. I’ve got to admit that while I might have read a bit of zombies here and there on some books I’ve never really read a book with a story based completely on zombies and I’m so glad this book was the turning point for me. Alice in Zombieland is like nothing I’ve ever read before. I’ve never even read the original book in which this one was based on so I was all clear and fresh to give this book a go. I don’t even know where to start. -"Don't worry. You're part of my world now. I'll teach you how to survive it."- The great characters that made this book what it is? The incredibly gorgeous Cole? The traumatizing story plot? The intriguing bunny cloud? The gorgeous gorgeous gor...
