Can't Wait Wednesday #1

Image
Can't-Wait Wednesday  is a weekly meme by  Wishful Endings , to spotlight and discuss the books we're excited about that we have yet to read. Generally they're books that have yet to be released. It's based on Waiting on Wednesday by  Breaking the Spine . Guys! This is my first one and I'm really trying here because I want this blog to go on so XD - Goodreads - (trying to post the description without spoilers here...) In the wake of tragedy, neither Lazlo nor Sarai are who they were before. One a god, the other a ghost, they struggle to grasp the new boundaries of their selves as dark-minded Minya holds them hostage, intent on vengeance against Weep. Lazlo faces an unthinkable choice--save the woman he loves, or  everyone else? --while Sarai feels more helpless than ever. But is she? Sometimes, only the direst need can teach us our own depths, and Sarai, the muse of nightmares, has not yet discovered what she's capable of...   ...

-review- Strange The Dreamer by Laini Taylor

Image
- goodreads - "She watched the squares of sunlight that her windows threw on the floor. They ought to have moved with the angle of the sun, but she was sure they were frozen in place. Of course today would be the day the sun got stuck in the sky. The gears of the heavens had gotten gummed up, and now it would be daytime forever." Wow you guys! WOW! Isn't it a dream come true? To be alive while Laini Taylor is and even more so that she's writing this in my time?Thank you God for this amazing thing. T.T I started this book really worried because I thought nothing could ever live up to Daughter of Smoke & Bone and all the things that said trilogy made me feel. I'm glad I was wrong. This book has Laini Taylor written all over it-from the astonishing and delicious writing to the incredible and epic world-building, from the names that sound perfect for the characters in the story to the adventure and magic it made me get lost in. ...

-review- Dreams of Gods & Monsters by Laini Taylor

Image
- Goodreads - "You are a conniving, deceitful hussy. I stand in awe." "You're sitting." "I sit in awe." Is it weird that I felt like I read the second book all over again while I was reading the first half (or a bit less) of this book? Because it sure felt like that to me and that alone made me go a little crazy and get a bit bored sometimes but worry not... Because author Laini Taylor writes, again, in such a way that even boredom isn't perceived as boring as one might think boredom is Hahahaha. I'm not making any sense but that's because I feel like I just woke up from a dream that I've been dreaming for some days now. Reading the whole trilogy back to back is a blessing and a curse at the same time. Blessing because I can never get enough of the authors style of writing or Akiva and Karou and Mik and Zuze and Ziri and Liraz. A curse because what do you do after this? What could possible come after delving into a...

-review- Days of Blood & Starlight by Laini Taylor

Image
- Goodreads - "A dream dirty and bruised is better than no dream at all." I've read sad books... Believe me, I have. Books so sad they would keep me from reading another book for months, the sadness lingering long after I finished the book. But I've never quite read a book as sad as Days of Blood and Starlight. This book was so sad I wish they would've invented a new word solely to describe this book. Oh, there were amazing things as well but the sad predominated throughout the entirety of it. It was like a living thing that wouldn't go away even now that I've finished it. And surprisingly I'm okay with it, if only for the fact that I've always liked heartbreak in books just to better enjoy and take in the un-heartbreaking, just as the author would put it. I started this book expecting one thing but what I got was another thing completely and it blew my mind. I loved it so so so very much that I suffered even more for it. ...

Cover Obsession #4

Image
Cover Obsession is a feature here on  BookPics . -I really don't know if anyone else does it as I do but I'm not trying to steal any other ideas out there- In which I tell you what new book covers I'm completely in love with, pinning for, drooling over, tearing-up over, going all  OH CLOUD!  on and all the other AMAZING-FANTASTIC-AWESOME-BOOKPIC-LY verbs and adjectives and adverbs you can think of that just simply aren't enough to describe how I feel towards said covers so,  I just go ahead and OBSESS over them :D ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I think I see a trend or two in here... but just to be sure. Take a look. Units  by Lea Williamson. I can't remember who exactly recommended this to me, I just know I receivd an email with a recommendation from a goodreads friend. The rest is history. Night Beach  by Kirsty Eagar Lindsey Lost  by Suzanne Marie P...

-review- Daughter of Smoke & Bone

Image
-With the infinite patience of one who has learned to live broken, he awaited her return.- Laini Taylor! What an amazing talent and gift you have. Characters- Karou is a character I'll be forever grateful I met. She's incredibly awesome with her strong persona and the blue hair which, in my opinion, is the coolest thing EVER. Akiva, where do I even start? I don't know how or when I just know that my heart goes to him. He made the word ANGEL take on a whole new meaning and made me want to fly. Every single character, I assure you, You'll love! The whole book wouldn't be this awesome and one of the best I've read this year, and simply PERFECT if it wasn't full of ugly beasts. strange angels, and a whole lot of wishes. Plot- I won't say a single thing about the plot. You know me it's all about the teasing and well...you knowing how the book made me feel. And yes it's set on...Prague :D you'll love it! It's beautiful and full ...
