-quick review- The Last Namsara by Kristen Ciccarelli

Image
- goodreads - "Asha.” He said her name like it was something exquisite and exasperating at the same time. What an amazing book this was. So magical so different and so fresh. The Last Namsara was such a quick yet immersing read. I found I couldn't didn't want to take a break from reading it, going as far as taking it with me to an overseas trip (with the obvious help of the kindle app.) I have to say though, I'm writing this months after I finished it but still the wonder of dragons, even better yet, dragons that collect stories like the girls who likes to provide them are still living on my mind, in my heart. The term Iskari somehow reminded me of Game Of Thrones if only because she's a girl and is secretly feared by many, being a fan of the TV series this became an instant favorite thing. So Death gave up and left her alone, thinking time itself would wear her away. The quick-paced developing of the story with pauses in all the right places, like ...

On My -Currently Reading- Shelf

Image
I have never been one to read more than one book at a time but for some reason I refuse to put 2 of the next 3 books back on my TBR pile and instead just continue having them on my Goodreads' -currently reading- shelf hahaha Actively reading; Claimed by M. Never (Decadence After Dark #2) - goodreads - MAN!!!!! These books are HAWT and SEXY and damn! Really... I have no words. They're yummy if you're into the dominant type ;) No more to say, just read them. They're fast reads too! The two books I'm not actively reading are; Salt by Nayyirah Waheed - goodreads - I'm easily influenced and convinced to try to read poetry, specially this kind AND it's all #bookstagram 's fault XD so that's why I even own this book, it was free and I had been seeing a lot of poems from it for a while now, I couldn't pass up the chance to download it to my kindle. I usually pull this up on my app when I'm waiting in line while running errands ...

Happy -belated- 2018! Reading-Life Update

Image
I was supposed to be more active this year on the blog, alas that has NOT been the case but it's never too late right? I'm always active on my Instagram & on my Facebook page so you're always welcome to go there and talk books and all things fun that you enjoy! For the time being I'll start working on writing reviews for the books I've read this year so far and hopefully I'll be able to schedule some posts. This year I'm going to be traveling quite some. Who would've thought I'd be traveling to freaking South Korea this year!!!!???? NOT ME that's for sure hahahaha. But I'm going! Freak out, stress, anxiety and everything included. Then I'll be going to the US and probably do some domestic traveling while there XD any places you recommend I visit? Here are the books I've read so far this year in case you're interested or want to give them a go. I'll include the rating I gave each one so you have an idea of ho...

-review- Ruin and Rising by Leigh Bardugo

Image
- goodreads - "Know that I loved you," she said to the Darkling. "Know that it was not enough." Wow.  That took a while... 20 days to be exact.  But I'm happy to announce it was worth sticking to it.  I got hit by a major reading slump in the middle of reading this so I had to take long long breaks...  Either way, while pretty predictable and kind of an anticlimactic ending I still enjoyed it. My favorite parts were definitely the 'Before' & 'After' additions that were in all three books in the trilogy.  They were perfect, introducing and then ending the story.  And the 'After' or was it 'Now' lol either way the last part was one of my favorites of the entire trilogy, it even made me cry which was something I thought this book wouldn't be able to... And you know me and my love for books making me cry, if I cry it means I loved the book so of COURSE that small little part of writing made up for all the slow...

-review- Siege and Storm by Leigh Bardugo

Image
- goodreads - "I like to have powerful enemies. Makes me feel important." I waited over a month for this book to finally get to me after reading the first one, I don't know what made me wait so long to read the first one but all that's in the past and I'm so very very happy I'm almost done with the trilogy. It starts exactly where Shadow and Bone left off. Alina and Mal hiding and running but... Their luck runs out pretty soon, too soon for my liking. I felt like this book was a complete build-up for the third and final book, things just started happening one after the other, more power more secrets, more lies and more surprises, they all were the perfect combination for painful but extremely enjoyable heartbreak. I'm a goner for whenever something bad or sad happens in a book because then, I get to enjoy the happy parts that much more. "I feel you slipping away from me, and I don't know how to stop it." The Darkling, as always,...

-review- Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard

Image
- goodreads - DNF Maybe another day... I read over half the book... 68% to be exact. But the MC seemed a bit too idk, her voice just fell flat and after a couple of pages I just knew what was going to happen. Nothing surprised me, well nothing except the incredible power that Mare has to overlook everything of importance. How can someone be that dense? I skipped to the last chapter and it was exactly what I had thought it'd be. No surprises, no plot twist no nothing. I'm so freaking disappointed and sad. I was doing so good reading a lot of YA but this book made me remember that not all YA is for everyone and this book really wasn't for me. The only reason I'm giving it three stars is because, 1. The book title was in and on the book so, I loved it plus the cover is absolutely gorgeous and goes really well with the story. 2. Cal was sometimes the only thing keeping me going with the reading, he sometimes made me think the story would change someh...

-review- This Is War Baby by K. Webster

Image
- Goodreads - "Because the queen always protects the king." And then she whispers the last part. "Even from himself." I've never been happier about the fact that I rarely read newly released books as I am right now. But boy am I happy. I love the name of the series. I love the name of him and her. I love and hate everything right now and I'm so incredibly ready to know what in the world will happen in the end. As in the end of the series! This is a really dark book at the beginning that turns a bit brighter as the story progresses but only a little brighter. There's a lot of scenes that happen that can potentially trigger some episodes so beware of it. A lot of physical and psychological abuse. A lot of mental illness involved. But aside from that. I am really shocked at how much I liked this book. I thoroughly enjoyed it. From the writing, even if there are some typos and editing errors here and there, to how the story flowed and you n...

-Review- It Ends With Us by Colleen Hoover

Image
- goodreads - amazon - [... He is. He asked for you. And I know you're with my brother and I'm with child, but can we please just take a moment to silently admire the perfection that is that man?] (Before the review let me tell you a bit about my reading experience as a whole...Also, I kinda was too emotional so there's a bit of cursing *something I rarely do* so beware.) I've read a lot of books in my lifetime. Some were so bad for me I wish I'd had a lighter right there to erase all traces of it from my shelves. Others were so good I constantly struggled with my selfishness to keep the story all to myself and not let anyone read it while at the same time wanting to have tons of people to discuss said good book with. Then came the gems. The epic books. The books that changed something in me every time I turned that last page and sigh a little contented sigh of happiness or sorrow or sadness or any feeling that happened to be evoked by the end...

What Books Do I Buy? + Currently Reading!

Image
I'm soon going on a small getaway trip to Orlando!!!! Woohoo!!! And it's been a long time since I last bought a book, like a printed book. So I'm really really really in much need of some help. I need you guys to recommend me some books you think I'd like :P You know I'm all about romance, YA, Paranormal, Contemporary, Urban Fantasy, NA, and so on. So please pretty please help out a booknerd, would ya? I've gotten some great recommendations so far but I want to make sure I don't pass up on books I'd enjoy hehehe. I hope y'all help me some. But before I go I'd just like to share what I'm... Currently Reading One to Hold by Tia Louise (So far, it's so sadly predictable and so insta everything I'm kind of wary but I guess it'll be a light and welcoming read compared to the other book I'm reading as well.) This Is Where It Ends by Marieke Nijkamp (Now this is being a really intense and suspenseful re...

-BookPics Is Curious- What's on my playlist?

Image
I have no idea if this is a thing or tag or I don't know, but I've googled it and so far I've found only random posts about it when people have been asked what music they listen to so they decide to answer by posting a playlist with their current music choices. In my case I'll just share one song in my playlist because damnnnn, the thing changes constantly sometimes and other times I keep listening to the same songs for months. Right now I'm listening to one brand new song along with a really oldie but goodie one. First one, 너를 위해 (For you) by 첸, 백현, 시우민 (EXO's Chen, Baekhyun, Xiumin) It's an OST for the drama 달의 연인 - 보보경심 려 ( Moon Lovers ) in which one of the singers is not exactly starring but he's still in it so... Yeah. It's amazing. It's romantic. And I love love love the beat and how their voices go together I cannot, I repeat, I cannot stop listening to this song! For You by Chen, Baekhyun & Xiumin And the other on...

-Book Blast- Vial Things by Leah Clifford

Image
Small intro by moi You guys! It's been forever since I read a YA book especially one that includes "supernatural" sprinkles. But I'm so glad I'm reading one right now, even better yet is the fact that it's by one of my very favorite YA authors, Leah Clifford who wrote an epic trilogy some years ago (Check my review of A Touch Mortal and A Touch Morbid  and my very short reaction to A Touch Menacing ) and if you've yet to read her Touch books I highly recommend that you do! Currently I'm like 20% in on this newly released book but BOY oh BOY! I was so not prepared for this, for ANY of this. Hope you take the plunge and check all of her books out. -hugs- Intro ends Leah Clifford is back with a BLOODY good young adult novel that you don’t want to miss. And at $2.99 – there’s no reason to!   Vial Things Synopsis As an eighteen-year-old resurrectionist, Allie knows staying vigilant means staying alive. The blood of the resurrectio...
