-review- Wintersong by S. Jae-Jones

- goodreads - "Play it for me," he said. Play for me, my dear, and I will hear it. No matter where you go. No matter where I am. I swear it. I swear it..." You know those times when there's a tiny little voice warning you from not doing things? Like when you want to exercise but it whispers that there's chocolate cake in the fridge so... priorities? Or when you want to go to a certain place but that voice makes an appearance and you end up not going only to find out later that some accident happened there? Well ladies and gentlemen. I bow to that little voice. I should've listened and heeded its advice for it is with great sorrow that I write this and tell you that my heart is no more. Why? Because I didn't listen to that little voice when it told me NOT to finish this book until I had the sequel. And here I am broken and crying but writing nonetheless because if there's one thing I should do is warn you in case that little voice doesn...

-thoughts- The Assassin's Blade by Sarah J. Maas (ToG #0.1 - #0.5)

Image
- goodreads - As someone pointed it out to me before I even had this collection of novellas. This is the heartbreak absolutely NO ONE asked for. But here it is nonetheless and I'm guilty AF for being a sucker for heartbreak. Edited to add the fact that I cried like a baby when... things happened. End of edit* -"But why? Why can't you let it go?" He grabbed her shoulders and shook her.- Sam is the one worth it the last star I gave this book, it was One star for Sam One star for the beautiful cover Three stars for the stories I hated a lot and I loved a lot and in between I managed not only to think the worst of Celaena but also the best of her. I'm glad I read these even if I struggled a lot because of the most stupidest decisions ever made in the history of decisions to make hahaha. -"My name is Celaena Sardothien," she whispered, " and I will not be afraid. "- 5= ~sobs hard~too good to be true!

-review- Three Dark Crowns by Kendare Blake

Image
- goodreads - -He wonders if this is the queen who everyone in Rolanth sees. If all the rumors have been untrue... If that is so, then she is his and his alone.- This is the first time I've ever started and finished a book like this.  Not because I don't read Fantasy often, alas I didn't until just recently, but it has more to do with the way it's written. The voice. The English. The way the characters "speak" and "think."  I'm not fond of old English though trust me this isn't old English. I'm just not good with certain ways that English was spoken a few decades ago. And that's how I felt this book was written and that's why I struggled at the beginning.  But Guys GUYS I'm so glad I pushed through.  And then... it didn't take me long... not long at all, to love it. To understand it and to crave it!  I've only ever read one other book by Kendare Blake but it is so very different from this you'...

-mini review- A Court of Mist & Fury by Sarah J. Maas

Image
- Goodreads - -No one was my master --- but I might be master of everything, if I wished. If I dared.- I can't write a review for this book. I loved it too much and no words can really showcase that. So I hope you give it a try and let yourself be swept away by the great writing of the author and the impossible and unbelievable world she created. Rhys, Lucien Az, El... Mor, Feyre Tamlin, Mor Cas, Nesta Amren, the King I loved and hated. I can't get enough of this series but at the same time I feel so overwhelmed I feel like I need a long long break. Even though I know I'll pick up the last book in a couple of hours because I won't be able to put it on hold for longer than that. -And I realized --- I realized how badly I'd been treated before. If my standards had become so low. If the freedom I'd been granted felt like a privilege and not an inherent right.- 10/5 stars ;)

-review- Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas

Image
- Goodreads - "My name is Celaena Sardothien. But it makes no difference if my name's Celaena or Lillian or Bitch, because I'd still beat you, no matter what you call me." So... I think I made a terrible mistake by making this my second book read by this author after her ACOTAR book. I liked this book. I did. I like the story. The tinge of sass it had, the world it made me go to, the way the characters developed at exactly the right pace. Not becoming too wise too suddenly or too good too slow. I enjoyed that but also... I couldn't really enjoy it thoroughly and that's really on me and my personal taste because I'm a sucker for first-person POV as opposed to any others, doesn't matter the tense of it as long as it's 1st person. Alas, this wasn't so it took me two days exactly to really get into the book, two days and maybe 10 chapters, give or take, at one moment I even thought I would just have to give up. I'm so glad I d...

Wish To Be Reading... #2

Image
Another Friday, another wishful read. This time I'm in a really paranormal/urban fantasy romance kind of mood. I'm a moody reader I'm craving (rather strongly) anything that contains mythical/magical creatures and steamy romance scenes here and there... While I own some of the books in the series, I don't own them all and haven't been able to continue reading them... I stopped at book 5. I'm in need of a reread to fall in love all over again with the captivating characters of Chloe Neill's Chicagoland Vampires series. But! I WISH I would've already done that and caught up so I could read... Goodreads -  Amazon First of all, the COVER is so completely gorgeous! I love cool yet at the same time dark colored book covers. Second, after what happened in the previous 2 books I can't even fathom how the author will come up with yet more torture for my booknerd feels. **Book description might contain spoilers from the previous books, if yo...

Image
Cover Obsession is a feature here on  BookPics . -I really don't know if anyone else does it as I do but I'm not trying to steal any other ideas out there- In which I tell you what new book covers I'm completely in love with, pinning for, drooling over, tearing-up over, going all  OH CLOUD!  on and all the other AMAZING-FANTASTIC-AWESOME-BOOKPIC-LY verbs and adjectives and adverbs you can think of that just simply aren't enough to describe how I feel towards said covers so,  I just go ahead and OBSESS over them :D ---------------------------------------- Because the cover I'm completely and irrevocably in love with right now doesn't need much of an introduction I'll just go ahead and show it... - Evertrue by Brodi Ashton (Everneath #3) Can we take a minute to appreciate the perfection?!!! -Review- Because Of Low by Abbi Glines

Image
Goodreads Shortie: In my debut novel, Breathe, Sadie may have fallen in love with the teen rock star, Jax Stone, but readers fell head over heels for Marcus Hardy. This is his story… My Thoughts?? There's just something about tattoos in a guy... Something... compelling to me *O* And a man crying?! GET OUT! That's just, simply... wow. Woah, what a way to start a review huh?! lol Okay, here I go. I read this book without remembering that this is a follow-up book instead of a stand alone or a first book in a series... Bad news? I missed the introduction of a character I now love and have fallen for, the good news? I didn't feel like I had missed out. The story could be read, as I did, as if it were a stand alone but now that I know it isn't I just have to read the first one :) Plus, I've been a fan of Abbi Glines for years now :D So it's only natural for me to finally give in and start reading her contemporary or NA tittles :D -Rushing back into ...
