Armchair BEA-Introductions First!

-pokes Armchair BEA-
(Book Expo America)
Oh my CLOUDS!
T______________________T
I cannot believe I'm participating in this T_T excuse me while my persona overflows with happiness, a giddy and childish type of happiness T_T but happiness nonetheless.
So I'll just stop rambling and thank Fiktshun for letting me know the sign-up forms were still open.

As you can see, this is my very first year participating as a blog ^_^ last year I was a really fierce commenter going to lots and lots of blogs and trying to figure out what BEA was exactly...
But now T_T I'm too happy for words right now!

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

**Please tell us a little bit about yourself: Who are you? How long have you been blogging? Why did you get into blogging?

Well, as you can see by my profile ~winkwink~ the name's Alba -> which means Dawn -> which leads me to like it a lot :D
I'm a FIERCE book reader, LOVE taking pictures-nature being my addiction-, can't live without movies, and I love to put or create a soundtrack to mostly everything that happens in my life.
I'm currently job-less T_T though I most likely won't be by the time BEA ends ~woo hoo!!~
And you know what that means!! Job = $$ = Books = Alba Happy!

Oh boy, if I told you the whole story of why I started blogging you'd get bored out of your mind BUT I'll try to make it short.

I started blogging because of... FACEBOOK, yeap, that's right. Last year Facebook created this new thing on their policy which told you you couldn't host giveaways anymore, and even if I didn't host THAT many giveaways I was MAD so I went ahead and created a blog, supposedly for giveaways only... As you can see, that didn't work well.

I started as a Facebook book-page owner :D I reviewed and shared my love of and for books there almost 24/7 and I was even more fierce in my reading and sharing because of where I live.
People here don't grow up with libraries-we don't have any-or really nice bookstores-we just have 2 known bookstores here- therefore when I wanted or still want a book it's really hard to find...So I thought...
Why not start a blog and encourage people to read, not only international but local too??
I hope I'm doing a good work so far...

So that's a bit of my story :D

**What are you currently reading, or what is your favorite book you have read so far in 2012?

I'm currently finishing Lockdown by Alexander Gordon Smith!!! This book is -shudders- creepy...

As for a favorite book?? I think A Touch Morbid by Leah Clifford and Easy by Tammara Webber and Ashen Winter by Mike Mullin are currently on top of my list :D

**Tell us one non-book-related thing that everyone reading your blog may not know about you.

None-book-related? Oh noes... I know!! I don't like cucumber-kidding-though I really don't like it...

I CRY for EVERYTHING if I'm a fierce reader I don't think I have a word for my crying!! T______T if you go to my *Review Policy* page you'll see that I even rate books according and depending on the times and how hard said books made me cry T_T
So yeap...my feelings are completely connected to my tear ducts.

**If you could eat dinner with any author or character, who would it be and why?

Can I cheat and mention 4 authors?? ^_____^
I'd LOVE to have dinner with;
-Maggie Stiefvater-And thank her for making me believe that love is the greatest power of all.-
-Gail Giles-I'd run to her and thank her for saving my life.-
-Gayle Forman-OH MY GOD, I think her life would be in danger T_T I'd hug her sooooo fiercely, crush her even... and I'd simply thank her for writing.
-Leah Clifford-I'd ask her what would Luke like to order for dinner and then...I'd touch her newly purple hair-
~If you click on the author's name it'll take you to my favorite book of theirs.~

**Where do you see your blog in five years?

I have no idea T_T I never actually thought I'd make it to a year of blogging-which happened last month.-
I don't know what future my blog holds...but I'd love to be able to continue sharing my addiction to books and photography :D

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

-Phew- This post was written so quickly you'd laugh at my expression the whole time it took me to finish it!!
T___________T
Thanks to Fiktshun again!! I cannot believe this is even happening!
Hope next year I'm able to attend BEA >.< But this Armchair thing is looking better and better :D

Anyone here participating in Armchair BEA?

  1. Awww, while I LOVED reading your post, I'm going to go cry now because my eyes hurt! Your theme is super cute but daunting on the eyes. :(

Anywho, I love that you cry for books! I don't "usually" but damn if it's awesome when one does make me cry!

  2. I don't normally cry while reading books, although I totally ugly-cried while reading The Book Thief. It broke my years-long no-cry streak!

I'm glad you're so excited about participating!

  3. Alba, I'm so glad you decided to join in on the fun!!! :)

I would so totally crash your get together with Leah and ask her if I could borrow Gabe for a little while. *lol*

Gosh, I'm a total cry baby. I cry ALL THE TIME - during books, movies, you name it. Also, I can't see other people cry because then I have to cry as well and it can really make me look stupid - when people look at me funny a la "WTF is SHE crying about?" Anyway!!! ;)

I've read quite a few other intros today and they really made me think, maybe I should have written more about myself. Well, but like it's usually the case with me, I don't think about certain stuff until it's too late. *erm*lol*

So, yay, Alba!!! Have an awesome ArmchairBEA week!!! :D

      I haven't seen your post...YET I'm off to read it now by the way...so we'll see...oh yes!! I thought about why I didn't put THIS or THAT...and then I'd forget...and then I'd remember again...it's a really weird thing...

  6. A good, well-written, emotional book can make me cry to the point of swollen eyes. I think a good cry with an emotional tugging book is a good release, and I am glad for it.

Congrats on your year of blogging - you seem like whole lot of fun.
Have a great time this week with Armchair BEA!

  9. Oh Alba! I adore you!! :) FWIW, Luke would probably order some sort of pasta, with a rich sauce and the best cut of meat they had, rare. ;) Plus dessert (If he was full, he'd skip the meal and just have dessert. He'd probably order Devil's Food Cake just so he could do that secret smile)
