-review- Exiled by M.R. Merrick

Goodreads Shortie:
Chase Williams is a demon hunter in the Circle, or at least he was supposed to be. On his fifteenth birthday, Chase stepped up to the altar to claim his elemental power, but it never came. Elemental magic is passed down to a hunter through the bloodline, but on Chase's birthday, the bloodline stopped.

Exiled without the Circle's protection, Chase has spent two years trying to survive a world riddled with half-demons and magic. When he has a run in with a frightened and seemingly innocent demon, he learns the Circle's agenda has changed...

The characters-scenery:
Well, I have to say... Rayna... That name completely made it for me...
It was awesome, unique-at least for me-and well I thought it suited the female main character PERFECTLY!
Chase's story was so well written. I literally could imagine every single thing that author Merrick described.

I instantly clicked with 3 characters. First it was Chase... being exiled from the only place you have ever known and which you considered a home must be awful and I felt for him. Then Rayna... because she's just that awesome and felt so real to me... And lastly... Marcus... because I have a crush on him... sue me *_*
Willy's mine so don't even try to look at him ¬_¬

Oh my clouds! The scenery!! If I could describe how amazing the description of it was I'd be writing down the whole book in here!! So... I rather you get the book and find it out yourself. Suffice it to say... nope... not going there.

-The more I walked, the more questions I had. I hated not being in control, but I hated not knowing what to believe even more.-

The Plot:
Since the first chapters of the book I 'thought' I knew what it was going to be about... Chase and his being exiled... But it was so much more than that...
You not only get to know Chase's story but a bit of background to a lot of secondary characters as well but please don't get me started on Rayna... I love her story the most... Don't know why and I really won't try to explain it because it'll end up looking something like --->> ofknrgknñslkendvaenrgnaaaaaaahahhhhhhhhohclouds! <<---

Every single thing that happens will have you hanging... You'll scream for sure and you'll shudder. Trust me on that.
Vamps... Demons... every fantasy/paranormal creature played and as excellent spice to give this story the taste it has.
Which is heartbreaking, terrifying, and action-packed.

-"...Don't miss dinner Sunday. Demons don't get sick so don't use that excuse again or I'll be banging down this door."-

Oh My Cloud! My Poor Feelings:

I really have struggled a lot to write this review...
not because the book isn't/wasn't good and definitely NOT because I didn't like it...
On the contrary...
I felt that the book was a really really refreshing read... One I wasn't expecting to feel for as much as I did... One I thought I couldn't find a way to relate to and one whose characters would appeal to me so much I've already called dibs in one... or 3 of them.
I don't think I've ever read something like what the author wrote.

It was extremely, and when I say extremely, I mean... EXTREMELY new.

I did have one tiny trouble but I think I got through it well... As I said, I thought it was going to be more about the exile than any other thing... And at one point I thought the story had so much going on I couldn't keep up... I did actually go back a few chapters in between my reading to see if I hadn't missed any important events...
But that was it... I felt overwhelmed for about 2 or 3 chapters at most... But then...

Of COURSE the author had to do THAT and my world came crashing and stumbling down until it shattered with a not-so-flattering sound.

I cried... I cried a lot... I don't know what else to say actually... Because if you ask me about ALL of the book... what I've taken with me?
It's that ONE thing... that thing that will sure mark me in the time it will take me to read the sequels...
It hurt... literally... And I just had to stalk the author to let him know how amazing his writing is that he made me feel for his story's characters what I would feel for any real people any other day.

Besides... BookPics has a stop on the blog tour for the third book in the trilogy!!!! 'Release' so be sure to check on the sidebar the date and drop by!!

-"Mom, we're in this together. You and me, always."-
