Moonset by Scott Tracey
Once again I've been rendered surprised and speechless by the amazing writer Scott Tracey.
The author's not shy when it comes to witches and this time was definitely not the exception.
Moonset starts right off with the action, no candy, no sweet introduction… Simple terror was enough of an introduction for the author and I couldn't have been happier!
The characters were, for me, incredibly relate-able-worthy! Seriously… There was just something about each of every Moonset kid that got to me…
Whether it was Cole…being a kid… Innocent and happy and extroverted as well… Kids can be… Or Jenna being what every girl her age can be, in this case… Taking the word "wicked" to a whole new level! Seriously, no joke there.
And Bailey being sweet and keeping everyone kind of human and sane… Mal… being hot and getting the girls all hot and bothered in the process…
And of course, we shall not leave out our main character from whose pov this whole story is told… Justin, who is… Ummm I'll let the book tell you itself :D
I can't believe how in love I fell, not only with the story but with the writing itself… I never knew that a story featuring things such as witches and wraiths could be told and described so awesome and beautiful and cryptic and scary and kind of disgusting-when it came to describing certain creatures-all at the same time… BUT this book proved me wrong and I'm so very very glad it did.
The surprise? How MUCH I enjoyed it!! I mean it. It's not that I'm not a fan of Scott Tracey's books… Trust me, I am… the thing is… I'm all for romance!! I'm a romance lover! And if a book doesn't have romance as some main part of a story I would most likely not even bother finishing a book… BUT… BUT… this book… While having romance had so much more and I didn't even notice the time that went by without romance, excuse me I was trying very hard not to snort awfully while laughing too hard when certain christmas decorations came into play… Or when a certain Kardashian comparison appeared… Or… Well… So many things…
Oh, but I got scared too… Scared for all Moonset. Because I care for each and every single one of them. And I really hate what they have to go through because of the mistakes that were made in the past by their parents.
They're literally all alone… and if they have protection is more because people are terrified of the curse than for their own well being.
BWAHAHAH
Okay, sorry.
As I was saying, not everything is fun and happiness… I don't even know the guy but I sure am kind of scared to even know him… Bridger… Just WHAT is his deal??
As much as I would love to tell you all my questions were answered, I cannot do such thing. I'm dripping with questions and doubts and fears. I can't even imagine what is going on right now… I mean sure… I GOT some answers, maybe even ones that were right THERE but I was too invested in other things-Hello Cole?!!-to notice.
But I'm wary of all characters except the Moonset… So… I'm left here begging for more, wanting more, needing more, because I sure as clouds want a sequel right this second.

My weaknesses?
There!! Just so there!!! O_O Moonset is set and center of this amazing book!! Is in it as much as on it! And the book cover is perfect!! Simply perfect!!
Enough said.
A grippy and really really chilly story. Where you don't know whether witches are good or bad, curses are bad or wrong, and can't tell normal people from well, not normal.
I've been hooked since word one and after a month of reading the book it still has its claws on me.
Completely recommend it.
I give this book,
MOONSET (Legacy of Moonset #1)
*** Moonset, a coven of such promise . . . Until they turned to the darkness.
After the terrorist witch coven known as Moonset was destroyed fifteen years ago—during a secret war against the witch Congress—five children were left behind, saddled with a legacy of darkness. Sixteen-year-old Justin Daggett, son of a powerful Moonset warlock, has been raised alongside the other orphans by the witch Congress, who fear the children will one day continue the destruction their parents started.
A deadly assault by a wraith, claiming to work for Moonset’s most dangerous disciple, Cullen Bridger, forces the five teens to be evacuated to Carrow Mill. But when dark magic wreaks havoc in their new hometown, Justin and his siblings are immediately suspected. Justin sets out to discover if someone is trying to frame the Moonset orphans . . . or if Bridger has finally come out of hiding to reclaim the legacy of Moonset. He learns there are secrets in Carrow Mill connected to Moonset’s origins, and keeping the orphans safe isn’t the only reason the Congress relocated them .. . ***

-…And her magic…Had a tendency to take on a life of its own.Like the time she stopped a fighting couple, pulling their feelings of love and attraction for each other. A spell that quickly spread, enveloping everyone for a full city block who dropped what they were doing and hooked up with the nearest person. -

About the Author
Scott Tracey is a YA author who lived on a Greyhound for a month, wrote his illustrated autobiography at the age of six, and barely survived Catholic school (and definitely not for the reasons you might think). He is the author of WITCH EYES, chosen as one of Amazon’s Best LGBT Books of 2011, as well as an ALA Popular Paperback in the Forbidden Romance category. The final book in the WITCH EYES trilogy, PHANTOM EYES, will be released in the fall of 2013.He is also the author of MOONSET, a new series which will be released April 8, 2013, as well as a contributor to the SHADOWHUNTERS & DOWNWORLDERS anthology, edited by Cassandra Clare. His career highlights include: accidentally tripping a panic alarm which led to nearly being shot by the police; attacked in a drive-thru window by a woman wielding a baked potato, and once moving cross country for a job only to quit on the second day.His gifts can be used for good or evil, but rather than picking a side, he strives for BOTH (in alternating capacity) for his own amusement.
