-Review- Twice Tempted by Jeaniene Frost

Goodreads Shortie: (Might contain slight spoilers of book #1)
Leila's psychic abilities have been failing her, and now she isn't sure what the future holds. If that weren't enough, her lover, Vlad, has been acting distant. Though Leila is a mere mortal, she's also a modern woman who refuses to accept the cold shoulder treatment forever–especially from the darkly handsome vampire who still won't admit that he loves her.

My thoughts??

Oh, but what an amazing thing is NOT to wait a whole year for you to read a sequel of a book that you fell in love with and left you begging for more.

I call my bluff since I pulled it off as long as I could until BOOM this book came into my life and I was FINALLY weak enough to give in and read the first one, Once Burned, so I could soon after read this one...

The book starts exactly where the first one ended.
And I was immediately swallowed up in the story as if I never waited a couple of hours to pick it up after I finished the first book.

Leila is once again one of the strongest characters I've ever read about. She's simply too real even for her own good. After the thrilling last pages of Once Burned I was itching to know who exactly had survived and what would be of this "aura" around Leila that apparently did some mojo to her powers.

And heartbreak found me just a couple of mages in this book T_____T I felt my heart was shattering bit by slowly bit until all the agony I felt just had to burst out and what better way than my tear ducts? Since, apparently, they excel at that.

-"You're the scariest man I've ever met, but I am not afraid of you. As for your enemies, let them come. I've survived them before and I will again."-

This story, for me, contained 2 really good plots, the first one being Leila's and Vlad's relationship and how it develops from lovers, to ex-lovers, to heartbreak, to mending, to trust and finally to something so deep and real and extraordinary that there aren't enough words to describe it... All in the read of a hundred of pages. And the second one is the hardest one but not the less dangerous. Both lead to very awful and painful destructions.

If it's the relationship one, the danger is the heartbreak and loneliness that comes with it and if it's the one that has to do with Leila's power... Life's on the line and we all know Vlad will not only NOT approve of that but will go to every single extreme precaution he's ever learned to keep Leila safe, not only from her enemies but from himself as well... Or was it?! ...

And can I say, HELLO Cat & Mencheres & Bones? I cannot believe how much I miss these guys until BOOM they're thrown in the middle without me even expecting them.

-"... because I want no misunderstanding between us. I am everything you think I am, but I love your-----, and what I love, I protect with all of the violence in me, which, as you've guessed, is considerable."-

This time, we see Vlad at his weakest and at his strongest point... We see an even darker side of him, one he didn't want to show Leila but now, given the circumstances, had no choice about showing her.

And can we salute TRAITORS?! I hate traitors, I hate betrayals, I hate the knife being driven in your back by the ones you trust the most. I hate lies and I hate hate... But I couldn't help it, all of these helped and added to my oh-so-raw emotions. Leaving you with a completely stunned into silence Alba most of the time.

Vlad's been betrayed and you and I and everyone else knows by now that whoever that person is... Will regret it for the next century or so... Will suffer and we'll either enjoy it or recoil from all the pain and torture that said person will have to endure.

But Leila won't settle just with being in the sidelines, as always, our brave main character wants a front seat, front row, front everything... -Yes, I JUST said that- And being who she is... Vlad will have little choice in the matters if Leila has anything to do with it.

-"Sometimes the grave finds you whether you're looking for it or not."-

Secrets, lies, love, sexiness, fire, more love are only few of the things that are all nicely and securely packed up in this awesomeness of a book. You'll want to strangle some characters while hug some others and cry with them in between while melting to the floor with the love scenes that author Jeaniene Frost brought to life in the middle of it all.
Because, Vlad Tepesh makes making love seem so overrated it hurts the brain.

My weaknesses!
The cover is not only a cover, it's Vlad... and I can imagine Leila seeing him JUST like that. And I love the tittle picking. Very fitting though not in the book.

Awesome, epic, hot, thrilling AND dangerous. You DON'T want to miss it.

I give this book,
5= Clouds In The Heavens READ IT!
