I'll be sharing my thoughts on the book and there's also a giveaway ;)
But first, as always, lets get to know a bit more about the book.

Hidden by M. Lathan
Series: Hidden, #1
Publication date: November, 2012
Genre: YA Paranormal

Synopsis:

Sixteen-year-old Leah Grant has given up on being normal. She’d settle for stopping the voices in her head, intrusive visions of the future, and better odds of making it to her seventeenth birthday.

That’s the thing about pretending to be human in a world where magic used to exist – at any moment, her cover could be blown and she’ll be burned to death like the rest of the witches.

Everything changes when she loses control of her powers and flees the orphanage she grew up in. She desperately wants to be invisible but finds her face plastered on every news channel as humans panic over the possible resurgence of her kind. And now the hunters won’t give up until they find her.

Making friends for the first time in her life and falling in love with one of them drives her to discover why she is unlike any being she’s ever met – human or otherwise. The dangerous powers inside of her that would repel Nathan, her new, handsome reason for living, are priceless to some. The locked up forever kind of priceless. And to others, they are too dangerous to allow her to live.

Let’s hope she can stay hidden.

MY THOUGHTS

Hidden was if not fresh a somewhat different read for me.
I enjoyed it and didn't... And I'm still coming to terms with that fact.

But first of all, I've got to say... The cover?
I'm in love. I know I fall in love with a lot of covers... But seriously... They're all all worthy and this one was no exception.

The tittle of the book plays such a strong roll in it and it goes perfectly well with the whole story. As does the book cover so you can safely say that my two weaknesses were definitely on display with this book.

Now, I don't even know what to call the main character... Is it Leah or can I call her her other name? I really don't care since I like the 2 but let's stay with Leah :)

She definitely is a one of a kind... Or wait... That's how she feels but really isn't... Or, is she?
Leah is a really likable AND relatable character when it comes to her personality but not to her powers heheheh. -_- So much for being funny.

Seriously though. She's powerful, wealthy -even though she might not know it for a while- And she's wanted... Not only by her new friends, though she is definitely liked in there and... Can I just say... WOAH... Those friends... I felt a little ummm way out of my element with what some of those new friends turned out to be but I seriously don't want to get that much into it... But wanted as in, someone either wants her dead or wants her for her/himself.

The start of the book is completely dark... Really dark... I seriously did not know what was happening and I believe that's one of the reasons that I kept reading it... Wanting to get the story... To understand what was really happening??

But fortunately it gets better.

In a world in which you believe you're the only one left of your kind and that said kind is believe to come from all things evil... Would you seek redemption? Refuge? Or fight to find out if all that is really true?
Have you been living a lie? And if you were... What then?

A new take in all things paranormal with a somewhat dystopian feel.

I give this book,
3 fotitos=Might've made me cry.

  2. Great review, Alba! I love the sound of this dark beginning though I love those types of reads. And Leah sounds like a great character that's easy to like! Glad you enjoyed it! :)

    1. Thanks.
And it is dark... But in a really unique way...
The main character hates herself... There's no other way to explain it...

      :D
      Thanks for the chance!
