-review- Everneath by Brodi Ashton

Goodreads shortie:
Last spring, Nikki Beckett vanished, sucked into an underworld known as the Everneath, where immortals Feed on the emotions of despairing humans.[...]She has six months before the Everneath comes to claim her, six months for good-byes she can’t find the words for, six months to find redemption, if it exists.

The characters-scenery:
When one is presented with such complex and unique characters, there is NOTHING, nothing that one could add about them in a review.
But let me just tell you a BIT~hello sarcasm hehehe~about the amazing characters that author, Brodi Ashton created...

When you pick the book up and start reading you're immediately sucked into a really detailing scenario and you feel exactly, what main character Nikki, feels and sees.
Her emotions are raw even though she doesn't wear them under her sleeve or on her face by reading from her POV you definitely FEEL with and for her.

I also fell in love, HARD, with a male character. And this time I don't think it's the bad guy... At least not that I know of... YET... But Jack is simply, deeply and amazingly REAL and so very very broken. I have a really soft spot for the broken ones, specially the broken ones that don't give up on the thing that broke them in the first place.

And Cole, I firstly LOVED Cole to such extent that it was kind of crazy. But get this, HE IS A MUSICIAN and isn't love better with a little harmony to go with it? He is, what you would call, utter temptation, without him tempting you at all but YOU thinking about what would it be like to just... Give in and try something different, something less hurtful, something, new.

All the other characters were amazing. Each and every single one of them giving to the story while also playing an important role of their own. I was specially drawn to Nikki's relationship with her dad... That just struck a little too close to home but that was the GOOD thing, I was in tears almost every single scene in which her dad came into view!

And the WHOLE place or non-place where the story is set is so creepy and dark but yet also real, as in the place ON THIS SIDE OF LIFE in which Nikki and Jack live and the dark place being the Everneath or well, the part that we got to see or got even a glimpse of.

-Five months since the one person who knew all my dreams disappeared forever.-

The Plot:
I really have nothing more to say than,
WOW!
This girl is FIERCE even when she's so easily broken and driven to the shadowy and dark side of herself, the purpose, the goals, everything she wants to achieve... She fights and fights HARD she doesn't want to give up and she certainly doesn't want, maybe? To give in... Cole is a really delicious & safe out from the disaster that her life has become and having only 6 months to do everything right for the last time kind of gives a girl a little of a, we will call it, PANICKY personality.

I mean it though, I cried so hard and laughed and smiled and just simply fell deeply and even more deeply in love with the whole, I don't even know what to call it but PLOT kind of doesn't do this book justice...

Right to the point, torturous, heartbreak-filled are some of the adjectives that I'd use to describe this book.

-"Becks, remember the first time we met?[...] "You mean, the time you nearly beheaded me with a baseball?"-

Oh My Cloud! My Poor Feelings:
I never thought I'd see the day or the book, in this case, in which I'd connect so much with a non-contemporary book. The only book that has gotten to me in such a level before was Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi and I felt so broken then, but this time. This time I was taken to whole new levels of broken, whole new levels of crying and heartbreak and whole new levels of darkness and tears. My still swollen eyes after 2 days of finishing this book being one proof of that.

My heart stopped several times while reading this, my thoughts scattered and didn't want to gather around and up when I finished the book... And now, even after God knows how many weeks since reading the book... Sitting here and trying to somehow do this book justice seems like a far-off thing that my subconscious is doing instead of my very own self.

If I could have this book's contents as wallpaper all over my room, believe me I'd do in on a heartbeat... But I LOVE my printed HB copy TOO much for that... Though I think it might not be a bad idea to print some of my favorite passages~how in the world am I ever going to manage that is beyond me, since the WHOLE FREAKING BOOK is ONE BIG AMAZING QUOTE!~we'll try, I can't give up that easily, not after reading Nikki's story.

-Strange that I'd recovered my laughter long before my tears.-

And let's finish with, My Weaknesses:
Both were on this book.
First, the tittle!
The tittle is actually what the whole book revolves around, the Everneath and all that it implies, the Everneath and what could it mean, the Everneath and Cole's background, the Everneath and Nikki's future, the Everneath and Jack's fate... See? EVERYTHING has to do with it, so the tittle is IN the book as it is ON the book.
Second, the cover!
The cover describes the book perfectly. To the dot! lol. Plus is so gorgeous is okay to droll-I don't judge, I did so myself when I got my very in-real-life copy.-

-"Why do you keep coming back if you're not going to stay?"-

Brodi Ashton, wherever you are, if I, someday-somehow get to meet you... Beware of my hugs...

-Ever Yours.-

An amazing dark story written like a song and one that will forever live in my heart.
The happiest saddest book I've ever read in my entire life!!!!!!!
Don't miss the chance to read it!
PLEASE!

I Give This Book
10special-fotitos(special rating for over-the-top-I'll-never-get-over-this book) =
I cried for things I didn't know possible I was capable of.
