Ashen Winter Tour Stop ~Book Review + Giveaway~

OH MY GOD.
OH MY CLOUDS!
Guys!!
When I found I had a spot on this blog tour I all but cried of happiness!!!
Most of you know how much I FREAKING LOVED AND OBSESSED OVER Ashfall last year.
And seriously I have no one else to thank but Mike himself!
He's not just a talented author but an amazing person as well!
I admire him and look up to him!! And someday I will definitely meet him hehehe so, you've been warned Mike! :D

Anyway.
The tour's going strong. It started Sept. 23rd over at Mundie Moms and will continue throughout what's left of the month plus the first 2 weeks of October so you're welcome to join ANY TIME!

And now! Without further rambling I present you my thoughts on this AMAZING sequel to an AMAZING book!

Goodreads Shortie:
It’s been over six months since the eruption of the Yellowstone supervolcano. It’s also been six months of waiting for Alex’s parents to return from Iowa. Alex and Darla decide they can wait no longer and must retrace their journey into Iowa to find and bring back Alex’s parents to the tenuous safety of Illinois. When the unthinkable happens, Alex must find new reserves of strength and determination to survive.

The characters-scenery:
Alex...oh Alex how I love you. It sounds so wrong in all kinds of ways but I, a 22 year-old woman is completely and madly in love with a 16 year-old book character, I know it happens all the time while reading YA but never have I been ruined this much for men in the real world as I have been by Alex.
Strong, Human, Real, True, Faithful, Scared, everything that he is just makes me love him and like him even more.

Darla *_* If I were even half as strong as she is I think I wouldn't be where I am right now. Darla you are all kinds of perfect. Enough said.

~dead~
I'm ruined, ruined forever. Ruined and ruined and ruined some more...
I'll never see a boy/man the same way ever again...I'll always ask myself...what if what happens in Ashfall/Ashen Winter happens now...would this guy do, work, save, keep his humanity as Alex did in both books?

The Plot:
I can't describe anything about the plot because there's one in each chapter...and it'd take me forever to try and explain to you what a masterpiece this book was/is/forever-will-be. If these books EVER come out in spanish I will make my whole family read them.
But I will tell you this...if Ashfall was breathtaking...this book has no existing word to describe it...I couldn't catch my breath, couldn't breathe at times, couldn't stop gasping at others, couldn't suppress my shivers and my tremors, I think I died more times than I care to count and now that I think of it...I completely loss sense of time and everything around me while reading.

When nothing else could go wrong...it does...
Choosing between save-warming-known love & raw-lifesaving-forever love is never an easy choice to make...
Humanity is being lost and Alex and his family might be the only ones, along with certain librarian-gotta love librarians,- that have some left in them.
The world will never be the same after this Ashen Winter, but above all, true love will always prevail, after all it is the greatest weapons of all. Isn't it?

Oh My Cloud! My Poor Feelings:
My brain, heart, body and everything in between will never be the same, will never feel the same, will never breathe the same, see the same NOTHING NOTHING will be the same after reading this book, for me...this was just too much and too good and just too...

I don't even know what to write...I've run out of words, out of thoughts, out of everything that makes sense.

This world author Mike Mullin created, this sequel to it-will always have me, even after I have kids and grow old, with doubts and questions such as: what if? would I? would everyone? would they?

I'm ruined...I'm so glad no one was near me when I was finishing Ashen Winter because my face was a complete mess of worry, tears, smiles, sighs, screams and spams from grinding my teeth too hard and too long...
I want to know what happens after this so bad is not even funny... Mike Mullin
~my hat comes off for you, I don't know how to say it or to let you know...your talent-patience-gift...you made me feel more emotions in a second than I thought I was capable of~

And let's finish with, My Weaknesses:
The tittle! It is ASHEN WINTER alright! I wouldn't have chosen any other tittle or any other name, it describes the book perfectly!! It just does! And I know my weakness is that the tittle be not only on the book but also in the book. But seriously even if it's only on it... It is so much more than I would had ever asked for!
The cover! I cannot begin to tell you how MUCH the resembles the whole book. Specially that specific part in which my heart all but broke into tiny little irreparable pieces!

On a side note

I really REALLY don't mean to brag but I HAVE to thank Mike for what he did!! I LOVED ALBA Mike...every single letter of the chapter in which she was featured...I think I read that part...more than 5 times before telling myself it wasn't healthy rereading a chapter that many times. I can't believe you made it happen T_T-
I give this book
10special-fotitos(special rating for over-the-top-I'll-never-get-over-this book) =
I cried for things I didn't know possible I was capable of.

And, well. Since you can now certainly confirm that I am indeed obsessed with the author and his books, it's only normal to share some of his info with you. So you can join me in my stalking! ~winkwink~

Author Bio:
Mike Mullin’s first job was scraping the gum off the undersides of desks at his high school. From there, things went steadily downhill. He almost got fired by the owner of a bookstore due to his poor taste in earrings. He worked at a place that showed slides of poopy diapers during lunch (it did cut down on the cafeteria budget). The hazing process at the next company included eating live termites raised by the resident entomologist (they taste like a cross between walnuts and carrots), so that didn’t last long either. For a while Mike juggled bottles at a wine shop, sometimes to disastrous effect. Oh, and then there was the job where swarms of wasps occasionally tried to chase him off ladders. So he’s really hoping this writing thing works out.

Mike holds a black belt in Songahm Taekwondo. He lives in Indianapolis with his wife and her three cats. Ashfall is his first novel.

    1. About your question.. First thing, my heart would beating rapidly, and I would try to be in a safe place. To be honest, I don't think I'd survive to something like this. And I just remembered a few days ago, I dreamed that the nearest volcano here, erupted, I was really scared in my dream and we were running without finding somewhere safe.. It was an awful nightmare! Anyway, this series are impressive, I love it :)

  2. I would get my kids, and grab as much food/supplies and as many things we could carry in some bags, grab half of my book collection, and try to get somewhere safe as quickly as possible. Well that's what I envision in my head anyway... :)
I have heard that this series is pretty awesome. Can't wait to check it out!

  11. I'm in my basement at this very moment, so I guess I'd just hide in a closet or something. Earthquakes don't happen much where I'm at, but it's good to always stay prepared.

  12. Get everyone in the car and try to escape -- to where, I have no idea!

  13. I'll contact every member of my family--and some friends too, if I still get any time.
