-Authors Are Rockstars Tour Stop, Author Interview + Giveaway- Talia Vance
Oh my clouds!!
First of all, check THIS out!!
Me!!! Going all awesome for the second time in a row *O*
We shall all just take a second to thank authors and bloggers (Fiktshun, Magical Urban Fantasy Reads & Two Chicks on Books and all the other hosts specially) for this awesome event...
Now that that's out of the way.
HOLLY CLOUDS!!!! I'm so freaking excited to have here today, one of my all-time favorite rockstars out there, she might not sing nor play crazy drums but she can write one cloud of a book, or several depending on how many you've read, I'm currently in the process of reading the one that'll soon be taking over shelves on bookshops, but that's a story for another time.
What I'm trying to get to is,
Today the lovely, amazing and awesomely talented Talia Vance has stopped by on this tiny blog to shine her awesomeness all over the place!!!
And well, I'm supposed to tell you why I think she's a rockstar of an author but I really truly cannot come up with a normal way to explain it other than telling you that I love love LOVE her first book Silver more than is normal and humanly healthy, that she's the ONLY author who has ever made me feel like this while reading her book, taken from my review of Silver (you can read my whole review HERE:
And who has the unique gift of delivering this (quoted from Silver);
1. We know every author has his/her own Bio, whether written by them or maybe with the help of others… But, could you describe yourself in 3 words only?
Take no prisoners.
2. I read you used to write stories for your dolls when you were young, do you have any favorite/least favorite that you remember? Did you give them a tittle? Hehe, do share.
I went for broad humor in the early days. I had a stuffed rabbit who was a weatherman that always got beat up by storms he failed to predict. There may also have been a sordid love triangle between a bear, a raccoon and a possum.
3. It’s been a little over a year since you became a traditionally published author. How does it feel now? With 2 published books and one coming out just next month? (Which I might add I cannot get enough of I’m in love with Netgalley)
It’s incredible and also very humbling to have books out in the world. I’m still amazed when I see one of my books on a shelf somewhere, and I’m blown away when I hear about someone I’ve never met reading and enjoying one of my stories. The best moment so far was hearing that a seventh grader gave a speech to her class about her favorite book, SILVER.
4. Since we’re in the rockstar mood, do you have an author you consider a rockstar? Why?
Tons! I’m a huge Rachel Hawkins fan. I love the way she combines humor, fast-paced plots and swoony boys. Veronica Rossi blows me away with her ability to convey so much with so few words. I also love Jennifer Echols for melty contemporary romance.
5. I’ll steal this awesome question from Jean BookNerd. When asked, What’s the question that you always answer with a lie?
“What do you weigh?” Which never works out for me, like when I went scuba diving for the first time, and my weight belt was too light.
6. What’s the last book you read? Did you like it?
I just read In Shadow of Blackbirds by Cat Winters, a historical ghost story that takes place in San Diego. It was great, very dark and atmospheric.
7. What do you think are your weaknesses and strengths as a writer?
I think my strengths are romantic tension and dialogue. My weakness is world building. I always want to skip right past it and get to the kissing.
Do you consider yourself a tea or a coffee girl?
I’m addicted to coffee. Starbucks skinny vanilla latte with no foam for the win!
Favorite music? Or if you have a favorite singer share that one :D
I’m love to listen to poppy alternative rock, and especially songs with a romantic, emotional hook. I love Dashboard Confessional, The Maine, and Jimmy Eat World. When I worked on scenes for Blake, I listened to a lot of the Goo Goo Dolls. When I wrote Gold, I listened to Snow Patrol to tap into Austin.
What’s the funniest thing a reader/fan/bookish-stalker of yours has ever asked or said to you?
After reading Spies and Prejudice, a reader said to me, “No offense, Talia, but you’re not this funny.” I took it as a compliment!
And finally, could you share 3 random facts about you that most people don’t know? -Including me-
I can’t dance, but I like to anyway, I’m descended from a woman who was killed in the Salem witch trials, and I was a witness in a murder trial.
Thanks so much for the chance Jaime, Mindy and Rachel :D
And Thanks to Talia for participating in the tour and making this girl happy happy happy and make me faint and smile and faint again and cry in between of all that!!!
You're AMAZING!!!! I cannot wait for whatever it is you have in store for us next!!!!!!
Love you love you love you!!!!!! And of course, your books, your writing... your sexy male characters -drools-
Okay, I have to finish this! Sorry ^_^
Talia Vance is a practicing litigation attorney living in Northern California with her real life love interest, two-point-five kids, and a needy Saint Bernard named Huckleberry. Talia has been writing since she could talk, making up stories for every doll, stuffed animal and action figure she could get her hands on. She grew up hoping to write the great American novel, but her life ran more along the lines of tortured romance and fast paced thrillers, so that's what she writes.

How did she manage to make the one guy I distrusted and hated and whose intentions were the most awful ones, be the one I ended up in love with and who I rooted to live for till the very end of the book, is simply BEYOND ME!
And who has the unique gift of delivering this (quoted from Silver);
It's weird how danger feels so much like safety.
And that also made me say this in my review (of Silver);
I don't think I have ever wanted to be just a regular invisible girl as much as I did when I discovered what a Bandia was.
So yeah, I love Talia Vance, I lover her writing, I love how she always always manages to reply to my constant stalking on twitter even though I know she must be busy writing masterpieces while I shamelessly or not so shamelessly go all fangirl on her, either over a scene or a book cover or simply when I found out I had gotten lucky enough to get to host her here on the blog.
My smile should have been illegal but hey, nobody sued me so I'm safe and Talia is... For now.
But let's get to what you're here for.
Talia was a rockstar-as always-and she answered some interview questions.
Here they are;
Thank you thank you thank you so much Talia, for taking the time to answer all my stalker-ish questions!
Take no prisoners.
(What?? What do you even *__*)
I went for broad humor in the early days. I had a stuffed rabbit who was a weatherman that always got beat up by storms he failed to predict. There may also have been a sordid love triangle between a bear, a raccoon and a possum.
(A rabbit weatherman? Bear, raccoon and possum LOVE triangle? Now I've read it all.)
(That 7th grader is the best 7th grader in history.)
Tons! I’m a huge Rachel Hawkins fan. I love the way she combines humor, fast-paced plots and swoony boys. Veronica Rossi blows me away with her ability to convey so much with so few words. I also love Jennifer Echols for melty contemporary romance.
(I love love Rachel Hawkins as well!! I want to read Veronica Rossi's books so bad now... Need to make time for them now that you've said this.)
“What do you weigh?” Which never works out for me, like when I went scuba diving for the first time, and my weight belt was too light.
(LOL!)
(Romantic Tension, one of your strengths? No wonder I almost couldn't breathe whenever one came up in Silver! I love getting to the kissing BUT really? The way you wrote Silver one wouldn't believe your weakness is world building, I love everything about it *_* And I'm so not biased!)
Now on to the less heave stuff;
Um... can I hug you now?????)

About the author;
Stalk Talia!
About Silver
Brianna has always felt invisible. People stare right past her, including the one boy she can't resist, Blake Williams. But everything changes at a house party where Brianna's charm bracelet slips off and time stands still. In that one frozen, silver moment, Blake not only sees her, he recognizes something deep inside her she's been hiding even from herself...
About Spies and Prejudice
Berry Fields is not looking for a boyfriend. She’s busy trailing cheaters and liars in her job as a private investigator, collecting evidence of the affairs she’s sure all men commit. And thanks to a pepper spray incident during an eighth grade game of spin the bottle, the guys at her school are not exactly lining up to date her, either...
About Gold (Bandia #2)
Descended from an Irish demigod, Brianna has fled to Ireland to escape destruction at the hands of her sworn enemies, the Sons of Killian. Taking refuge at the estate of her former nemesis, Austin Montgomery, Brianna discovers a rift in time that opens to an era before the feud began...
