About The Author

As a child, Angela Corbett’s most prized possession was a set of read-along books. She used to follow along with the narrator on the stereo and dream of when she would be able to read by herself. Her childhood reading habit led her to consider her future career. However, after consulting with her parents, she realized she had already exceeded hobbit height and since fairies and dragonslayers were tricky jobs to get, she decided she wanted to create worlds of her own. She started writing poetry in elementary school and worked as a journalist in high school and college, but could never leave her love for writing fiction behind.

She is a graduate of Westminster College where she double majored in communication and sociology. She has worked as a journalist, freelance writer, and director of communications and marketing. She loves classic cars, traveling, and escaping in a good book. She lives in Utah with her incredibly supportive husband and their five-pound Pomeranian, Pippin, whose following of fangirls could rival Justin Bieber’s.

Eternal Starling is her debut novel and the first book in the Emblem of Eternity trilogy.

-Release Day Blast- Then, Now, Forever by Teodora Kostova

Welcome to the release day Blast for Teodora's Heartbeat book #2!
Hope to have the review done soon!

Then
Gia had let Beppe into her life so easily, as if it was the most natural thing in the world. She’d held him when he’d hurt so badly he’d thought he might die; she’d talked him down when he’d been so angry he’d considered doing something he’d regret for the rest of his life.
 Gia had saved his life.
At least once he needed to be strong for her.
This right now, this moment, was theirs. It belonged to them, not to abusive or dead fathers, not to guilt, regret or sorrow, not to the past or the future.
But will their love survive when tragedy separates them?
“I have to go, Gia. I’m tired and I feel empty. I know you need me, but I have nothing left to give you. I need to heal.”
“I miss you so much it’s hard to breathe.”
Now
Beppe was still Gia’s closest friend. But they’d never be anything more than that again. Remembering what it felt like to have the person you love most in the world torn away from you still hurt. Gia was determined never to be put into that position again.
There was never lack of love, but can Beppe win Gia’s trust again?

Forever
“When I was broken you gave me pieces of yourself and made me whole again.”

About The Author

Hi, my name is Teodora and I live in London with my husband Ted and my son Jason. I've been writing ever since I can remember, but it became my full time job in 2010 when I decided that everything else I've tried bores me to death and I have to do what I've always wanted to do, but never had to guts to fully embrace. I've been a journalist, an editor, a personal assistant and an interior designer among another things, but as soon as the novelty of the new, exciting job wears off, I always go back to writing. Being twitchy, impatient, loud and hasty are not qualities that help a writer, because I have to sit alone, preferably still, and write for most of the day, but I absolutely love it. It's the only time that I'm truly at peace and the only thing I can do for more than ten minutes at a time - my son has a bigger attention span than me.
When I'm procrastinating, I like to go to the gym, cook Italian meals (and eat them), read, listen to rock music, watch indie movies and True Blood re-runs. Or, in the worst case scenario, get beaten at every Wii game by a six year old.

Don't be shy and get in touch - I love connecting with my readers. Blog:www.teodorakostova.blogspot.com

-BookPics Is Curious- I'm NOT Busy

Well hello there lovelies!
Long time no see, talk, write to or well everything really.

I'm sorry I haven't been posting reviews as I wish I would because, I've kind of read a lot these past few months, believe me I really really want to sit down and write some (a lot) of reviews.

Sadly or happily, depending on your pov I haven't had the chance to do any of those things and not for lack of time.

It turns out last month I made/took a life-changing decision one that I'm still coming to terms with and one that has me all kinds of nervous and excited and happy and sad and well, I think I've developed a bipolar personality in all of the 30 days since I made that decision. But when I've been living with THIS condition for the last 4 years I think I'm proud of myself for taking this leap :P

It's not bad news so don't worry, on the contrary it's amazing if I do say so myself and NO I'm definitely NOT pregnant hehehe.

I still won't be saying what exactly it is here on the blog because I'm going almost all over the place to work on this thing and because I want to announce it when it becomes an official thing.

I've made the decision that I've got to stick with it and work towards accomplishing it, don't worry I might have an answer on November or maybe before that.

The reason of this post is not to tease you or bore you with all my real life things hehehe but apparently my mind has been so focused on this thing that I haven't been in the "mood" of writing reviews, those reviews that I love and adore, those that practically are my heart and soul displayed for all of you to see here on the blog, and yes I did had the amazing break from all this to write that one review for Unravel Me by Tahereh Mafi, because seriously guys all my feels were kind of going all over the place and I ended up without a brain after that read so maybe that's why I couldn't continue living a normal life without sharing with the world my thoughts of that book but shortly after I wrote that review I once again found myself immersed in tons of paperwork and stress.

SOOOOO
I won't be posting much on the blog, at least not as I'd like and not as much as I was used to do, I'm taking a kind of hard english test this coming saturday and I haven't even studied well enough for it... But that's just one more step for that whole decision making I mentioned earlier----
I'm rambling, sigh, I knew this would happen.

Anyway.
Than y'all for understanding and a good luck or blessing here or there wouldn't be bad ;) God knows I'm needing them and will be needing them soon enough.

-Less posting, remember, though you might see a blog tour stop here and there from blogs I had previously signed up for or some book blitzes or blasts that I might to want to take part in, sorry! It'll be boring but I hope to be able to come back to my favorite place -book world/reviewing/taking pictures/stalking blogs/stalking authors-soon!! Sooner than soon!

And I really really hope to have the good news soon so I can share them here and we can all dance happily or something.

In the meantime, I'm reading Abbi Gline's Fallen Too Far series X_X

Excerpt

I stooped down and back-elbowed him across his jaw. His head fell sideways, but not for long, he turned to watch me but said nothing. I got up and slammed a good kick to his side. He winced but remained silent.

“What are you up to?” I demanded.

“Killing.”

“Why?”

He smiled. “It’s fun.”

“I’m about to call Derek, but I’d like to know what you’re after first.”

“Let me go,” he said.

“Oh… you’re hilarious.”

“You’ll regret keeping me here, Annie. I can’t afford to be captured right now.”

“Oh, RIGHT, what was I thinking? I should have called ahead to schedule an appointment for your capture. I just didn’t have your number!” I watched him in disbelief.

“I don’t have email or Twitter either. You know why?” His lip twitched. “I can’t have followers.”

I heard a chuckle from behind.

“Really, Beth? You’re going to encourage him?”

“What? No, it was just… I thought it was… funny,” she finished saying in a low voice.

I turned back to Nick and was about to grab his neck when I realized being that close to him would not be a good idea. If I allowed myself to get that close to him, he could hypnotize me to let him go, so instead, I kicked him.

“Now you’re just doing this for spite,” he said.

“Yes.” I kicked him again. “You started it at Worldsafe.”

“What are you, ten? I pinch you, you pinch me? Actually, I wouldn’t mind pinching you…” I was about to slam him again. “No, stop. Stop! Your kicks are more painful than mine. Stop it.”

“Any more requests? It seems you think you’re in charge here,” I said.

“Just, wait, all right? Don’t call Derek. Don’t let anyone know I’m here,” Nick begged.

“Scared?” I smirked.

Ava and Nash plunge from the sky and end up on an uncharted deserted island.

Stranded.

As if that isn’t bad enough, Ava starts to desire more than just rescue—hunger for more than food. Nash is only too happy to oblige… but it seems they might not be as alone as they thought.

-Blog Tour Stop, Character Interview + Giveaway- Gold by Talia Vance

Welcome lovelies!!
Today's my stop on the Gold blog tour and I couldn't be happier!! The very brave and magic main character, Brianna, is dropping by to answer some a LOT of questions.

If you've no idea who I'm talking about well, lets just say you're really missing out.

Silver was Talia Vance's debut book last year and it made my top 20 reads of 2012 what with how she brilliantly wrote about a certain Bandia and let us not forget that she has made me fall over and over again with 2 different boys, plus she is so lucky in the book cover department! Would you check those covers out?! I love how the both go with their respective content and the tittle for each of the books is just PERFECT!

So, I'll just leave you with a little info about the book and we shall get to the interview. Worry not, the giveaway is featured at the end of the post so try and don't miss it ;)

Bandia #2
Goodreads description:
Descended from an Irish demigod, Brianna has fled to Ireland to escape destruction at the hands of her sworn enemies, the Sons of Killian. Taking refuge at the estate of her former nemesis, Austin Montgomery, Brianna discovers a rift in time that opens to an era before the feud began.

Wrestling with her newfound feelings for the more innocent Austin, Brianna begins to wonder if she can alter the past. But when Brianna and Austin learn that the Sons are raising an army of mythical beasts, the pair will need to use their magical strength in the present to avoid a tragic end.

Hey Brianna! Thanks so much for taking the time to be with us today! Hope you’re good ;) Though after the ending in G... O____O I really... Okay, never mind.

1. I’m currently reading Gold so I feel like I’ve known you for a while now but for those here who don’t know you, could you introduce yourself? Remember, it doesn’t matter if you’re wearing OR not wearing your bracelet right now ;) So, don’t be shy.

I’m seventeen year old girl from California who is about to start my senior year of high school. I ride and show horses, and love science and math. Oh, and I’m also the seventh generation descendant of an Irish Goddess, with control of air, fire, water and earth, a would-be soldier in a battle between the gods and the Milesians for control of the earth.

2. I know I’m being kind of mean right now, what with all your suffering and betrayal and lies and stuff but I’ve got to ask. Gold or Silver? Silver or Gold? Which is your favorite color? OR least favorite?

My favorite color is blue. Just kidding, but that is a hard question. If you asked me a few months ago, I wouldn’t have hesitated, but so much has happened since then, that I really don’t like to think about either one.

3. Have you gotten the chance to know Talia? Or is she a complete stranger to you? If you do know her how would you describe your relationship with her? Is it an easy one?

Who?

4. Throughout Silver, we get to see your love for horses, for riding. Which would you say is the PERFECT name to give to a horse?

The perfect name for a horse is the name that fits the horse, so it depends. I once knew a horse named Buckey- a palomino who was prone to bucking, and a pony named Massey, whose tail was always a mass of knots no matter how many times it was brushed.

5. I know this is asked in one of the books but not to you so I’m curious, do you believe in love at first sight? Why?

I think that there are people that we have an immediate connection with, and those people are special and should never be taken for granted. But I think that love is something that has to be earned. I didn’t always think that, but I do now.

6. What is the one thing you wish you could’ve done differently in Silver?

So many things! But mostly I wish I had hung on to that damn bracelet. Every time.

7. What’s the one thing you wish you could do repeatedly, over and over and over again in Gold?

Kiss Austin. Did I just say that? Yes. Yes, I did.

8. You once said that your weakness was the girl in you, do you still think that, after everything that has happened?

No. I think my humanity is what keeps me grounded. There has to be a balance between self-preservation and empathy. The girl in me may still end up getting me killed, but I would rather be dead than a heartless killer.

9. If you could be another person, anyone in the world, for one day. Who would you want to be? Why?

If I’ve learned anything, it’s that everyone has their own burdens to carry, and I’m not sure that anyone has it any better or worse than me. But if I could be anyone, I would like to try being Albert Einstein so I could better understand quantum theory and maybe find a way to change things.

10. My questions have been random mostly because I want to keep people guessing as to what exactly we’re talking about, so forgive the randomness :D Anyway, Are you in love now? Really, really in love? (Remember that I haven’t finished reading Gold so I don’t know what happens so no spoilers!)

I am and I always will be.

11. Finally, I’ve been bugging Talia about how much she has made me suffer with Gold (Oh my god I’m loving and hating it at the same time!) Should I be worried? Can you give us a teaser as to what we can expect at the end of Gold?

I really can’t. It hurts too much to think about it.

12. Ohhh!! I almost forgot Blake or Arawn? LOL! Just kidding ;)

Thanks Brianna!!! You ALMOST answered all of my questions but, interesting interesting interesting you get more interesting to me by the minute... Anyway.
Thank you Talia for letting us borrow some time from your awesomesouce main character that I’m sure, must’ve put up a fight before she gave in to give the interview since well... I just can't.
But thank you both, so much ;)

About the Author

Talia Vance is a practicing litigation attorney living in Northern California with her real life love interest, two-point-five kids, and a needy Saint Bernard named Huckleberry.

Talia has been writing since she could talk, making up stories for every doll, stuffed animal and action figure she could get her hands on. She grew up hoping to write the great American novel, but her life ran more along the lines of tortured romance and fast paced thrillers, so that’s what she writes.
