-Cover Reveal- Tousle Me by Lucy V. Morgan

Tousle Me: A New Adult Parody by Lucy V. Morgan
Publication date: December 13th 2013
Genres: Contemporary, New Adult, Romance

Synopsis:

He’s exquisitely hot. Exquisitely tousled. Exquisitely screwed in the head.

Cammibelle Hicks just wants to survive her first year of college. Desperate to forget her troubled past, she throws herself into her degree and book review blog. So what if her life is one long tumblr page of grumpy cat GIFs? She doesn’t need to get out more, and she definitely doesn’t need a man.

Hunter von Styles approaches life like he’s spoiling for a fight: with a tempting scowl. A cage-fighting, ex-rocker billionaire, it’s unclear why Hunter’s at college. Frankly, it makes no sense. Then Cammie falls into him—literally—at a party, and he’s obsessed. He needs her more than a moist towelette at a barbecue.

Though Cammie’s friends warn her against Hunter, she can’t resist his charms; especially not when he buys her shoes. And GoodReads. And a unicorn. But when her handsome best friend, medieval reenactor Archer Riddick, makes a play for her heart—and challenges Hunter to a jousting match—it turns out that Hunter has demons of his own. Demons that aren’t real ones, but metaphorical ones—which are MUCH WORSE, when you think about it…

Join Hunter and Cammie on an emotionally exhausting journey into love.

And co-dependence.

And probably therapy.

About the author,

Lucy writes sharp contemporary fiction, usually with a liberal splatter of filth. She is a Lyrical Press author, an editor and a screenwriter.

Her new adult novel, TWISTED SUMMER, is a gutsy take on forbidden love starring an even gutsier heroine.

Her contemporary series, encompassing CHAIRMAN OF THE WHORED and THE WHORED'S PRAYER, features slick London lawyers with a penchant for sensual violence. BEAUTIFUL MESS, her romantic comedy novella, is a snarky, sexy friends-to-lovers romp.

In TOUSLE ME: A New Adult Parody, Lucy pays homage to the books she loves in the best way she knows how...by mocking them mercilessly.

Lucy lives amid a graveyard of scented candles and half-read books. She's still trying to kick her dirty Pepsi habit.

-Review- Crash Into You by Katie McGarry

Goodreads shortie:
From acclaimed author Katie McGarry comes an explosive new tale of a good girl with a reckless streak, a street-smart guy with nothing to lose, and a romance forged in the fast lane...

First of all, my weaknesses?
Both were KIND of present in this book. One more than the other.
The book tittle? It wasn't as if it was literally inside the book but it represents exactly what the whole book is about, the theme and most of the settings so I'll go with a big round 100% in love with the book tittle.
The book cover? It somehow is a sort of scene in the book but at the same time it isn't... But I do love how it portrays the whole story in one sole picture so I'm going with heck yeah!
Both my weaknesses!! I love love love the book cover AND the tittle plus, please take a second or a day whichever suits you best, to admire the male model on the cover *O*

My Thoughts?

Rachel, oh dear dear Rachel, where to begin? Do I tell people how incredible my instant connection with you was or just how amazing the story was in general?

If you ever read my review for Dare You To you'd remember that I wasn't a fan of the first book but that Dare You To simply blew my mind away so I wasn't afraid to continue reading this series and was more than looking forward to reading this book. I had all this huge and amazing expectations for it, I wanted it to be better than the last just as what happened when I read book #2.

I really and thoroughly enjoyed this book, seriously, I did. The plot, the setting everything was believable, the writing wasn't rushed as is the trouble nowadays with a lot of books.
Nope sir, author Katie McGarry knew just which buttons to push in order to keep me glued to each word, each paragraph, each page and even before finishing a chapter I was left wanting more of a certain scene, a certain dialogue.
Because people! The dialogue :D I've never been one to look or review the writing style or techniques that must go on with certain books that much but I couldn't help myself with this book.

What I'm about to do isa wrong. So wrong. The exact opposite of everything my parents expect from me, and for that reason alone it feels right...

And then of course after Rachel, amazing, sweet, stubborn, fragile but determined Rachel... Came one of my favorite characters ever to be written... Isaiah... I loved him in Pushing The Limits, he was the only one I really really cared for... Then on Dare You To my heart broke for him but at the same time I knew something better was on his way and BOY!! BOY!!

Isaiah... Thanks so much for being the character, the man that you are!! He's everything that I've always wanted a male book character to be and has certainly ruined me for all real men on earth. Tattooed, strong, a little frail right in the center and well... Seriously, I couldn't love him more even if I wanted to.

All in all, I loved how the story progressed from bad to worse and then BOOM...

And even though I loved every single part of it, every twist the author decided to add to the story and even though the whole time I was reading I could completely lose myself inside the head of whoever I was reading about... Even after all these good things I was still left wanting more and not the good way Icantgetenoughofthisbook kind of feeling but more of the one that the book was just that, GOOD but not mind-blowing, not a life changer kind of book, it was another good story a story that a lot of people might like but that for me just didn't reach that point that I wanted to reach, which was myself left completely devastated because the book ended and begging for more of the story.

"Life isn't made-fortelevision movies or books with happy-ever-afters. Sometimes the choices we're presented with are bad or worse."

I was just happy with how it ended and that's it.

Well, at least THAT's what I thought right up until the last few pages... I CANNOT believe the author DID that to me!! I mean, seriously... I was a wreck, I was panting, I was sobbing uncontrollably and refused to even turn one more page of my galley... I was terrified terrified of everything that might or mightn't... I feared for everyone and everything and I was simply... WOW

I was left dumbfounded... I couldn't believe that almost at the very ending, right when I thought that the story had been just okay, just another good but kind of forgettable story... O_O here comes the author and word-slapped me on the face... Right there... where it hurt the most.

I loved it!! loved loved loved it!! That thing *_* and then the wait... and then the not mentioning her name until then :( It was torture and I loved every second of it.

Thanks so much to author Katie McGarry for writing about anything and everything and not being afraid of it ;)

If you're looking for an adrenaline rush kind of love story, with a girl that exists only to replace the void that another girl left behind and with a guy that doesn't want all the bad and sad things that have happened in his life to define him... Or if you're in the mood to read about cars and races and love and kisses and Noah and Beth and danger and money... Then you're in for a true story that'll leave you breathless and rooting for the tattooed guy.

I give this book,
5fotitos=~Sobs hard~Too good to be true!

And just because I love you guys here's one of my fave parts... quotes... passages... whatever... I'm skipping some names though :D

At the end of its very own road, HERNAME's house sits entirely illuminated against the night sky. It has white columns and white marble steps and what the fuck is HERNAME doing with me?

-Review- Alice in Zombieland by Gena Showalter

Goodreads shortie:
She won’t rest until she’s sent every walking corpse back to its grave. Forever.

Should ----a word of anguish rather than consolation.

Well there goes my aversion to reading books about zombies.

I’ve got to admit that while I might have read a bit of zombies here and there on some books I’ve never really read a book with a story based completely on zombies and I’m so glad this book was the turning point for me.

Alice in Zombieland is like nothing I’ve ever read before. I’ve never even read the original book in which this one was based on so I was all clear and fresh to give this book a go.

I don’t even know where to start.

-"Don't worry. You're part of my world now. I'll teach you how to survive it."-

The great characters that made this book what it is? The incredibly gorgeous Cole? The traumatizing story plot? The intriguing bunny cloud? The gorgeous gorgeous gorgeous cover? The twists and turns that made the book that much more awesome? The writing style the author possesses?

I guess I just told you in simple questions everything that I loved about this book!

But there is just one thing that I, as I always have been and am to this day, have to admit was my favorite thing in the whole book,
The BEST friend. The sidekick. The awesomeness of true friendship!
Seriously? How do authors these days manage to write such complex yet funny and light “secondary” characters is beyond me.

Kat has got to be my ultimate favorite bookish BFF! Right along with Frosty… Frosty and Kat made this story that much more entertaining. Not that the zombies weren’t great because they were and not in the “oh-look-that’s-a-zombie-lets-run-for-our-lives” but in “what-the-fudge-run-RUN-NOOO-Wait-Let-Us-Fight-Them!-I-Will-Not-Let-Them-Win-FLAMESCOMETOME!!!” kind of way ;)
But Kat and Frosty just had this way about them.

For me their story was amazing, simple, and yet completely mysterious.

What is it exactly with these 2 characters? I loved them so freaking much is exhausting!

And well, then we have Cole and Ali (I refuse to call her Alice) which are just simply a hot combination of brave, courageous, stubborn and sexy.

-The idea of a safe place really intrigued me. At the moment, I had so much acid churning in my stomach I needed to throw up before I became completely toxic. Or maybe that would make me into a new superhero, like Peter Parker and the radioactive spider. Only I'd be Vomit Girl, capable of grossing everyone out.-

They’re a nuclear bomb full of chemistry just waiting to explode and I can’t wait to take a look at all the carnage it’ll leave on it’s wake!

All in all a story that had me guessing at a lot of turns, sighing at a lot of “visions,” crying at a lot of deaths and silently screaming at the zombies always chanting in my mind “do not let the dark and vile thoughts get to you.”

I cannot wait to get my hands on the sequel! I still can’t believe I took this long to pick this book up! But oh! How I regret it! I need the second book as I need food and coffee!

Give it to me NOW!!! NOW!! Or I’ll go all Ali on you! I promise!

My weaknesses?
While I love the cover I don't think it represents what goes on in the story so no points for it there.
But the tittle was simply perfect!

I give this book,

5fotitos=~Sobs hard~Too good to be true!

And I'll share with you guys one of my fave passages ;) Though I won't tell you who's talking or with whom that person is talking.

-"Fine, I'll follow your orders." Anything for answers. "Just as long as you realize that every time you issue one, I'm beating you up in my mind."

"Realized," he said, thrums of amusement suddenly evident. "But please refrain from mind-punching my pretty face. I like it just how it is."-

Yet ANOTHER Fiktshun Post -Happy 3rd Blogoversary!-

You would think I'd have learned my lesson by now.

I should have stopped stalking her such a long time ago, nope, not stop following her but just simply and plainly stop stalking her. I still think that there will come a time when she'll come outright and tell me to please (because she's really polite and everything) stop with the stalking, the long comments, the random tweets, the out-of-the-blue tags on Facebook... And.So.On...
She'd be gracious about it but she'd still tell me to just stop it.

I'm still waiting for that day to come.

And I've tried you guys! I've tried a LOT to stop stalking her as much as I do but I simply can't.
If you don't believe me, let me show you some evidence...

Exhibit 1
When she turned her first year! I wrote this post.

Exhibit 2
When she made me cry like I had lost a limb or something I think I even made a video!

Exhibit 3
When I stumbled upon her book touring site I wrote down this post.

Exhibit 4
When I saw she had started the awesome touring site I decided to celebrate her awesomeness with a week full of Fiktshun here, there and everywhere!

Exhibit 5
When I celebrated my first blogoversary I finally gave in and going against all my instincts to NOT bother a famous blogger I asked her if she'd be willing to answer some interview Q's!!!

Guys. Really. This is so not healthy :(
But whatever...

Now she's gone and reached the 3 year mark on blogging!!!

Yes!! You read that right! Fiktshun turned 3 years old this past Saturday!! And I'm ashamed to admit I thought it was going to be Sunday and not Saturday. I had been waiting to see her post but then when I checked my email I saw that I had already missed it and that I wasn't going to be the first one to comment there and wish her a happy blogoversary as I had planned. MONTHS in advance...

Anyway, she's freaking 3!!! And I'm so incredibly happy to still remain one of her constant followers!

I've watched her blog go through all these phases, I saw how she tried to change her reviewing ways, saw and experienced new features she started on her blog, saw time and time again how she changed Fiktshun's appearance, got to sign up to a book touring site she started with another amazing blogger, danced of happiness whenever I saw she started a new blog of hers, cried when she posted some reviews that made me want to strangle her because she made me want to read the book so bad... Those reviews should be illegal (or should come with a painkiller :D) Please please don't get me started with her generosity because, well, just don't.

And... I saw more good than bad, I saw that she went through some rough times but she still came back with her head held high (metaphorically speaking) even though she started to be less social on the internet. And I missed her. And I completely (maybe) ignored the fact that she was not going to be online as much...

AND AND AND!!! Then came the time when she put a Team BookPics button on her blog T______________T
I think that day killed me and I've been a zombie ever since X_X Seriously, there's no other way to describe the level of happiness I reached that day.

My point is. She's 3, she's still around, she's gone and become not only a really stablished book blogger but also an official published author!!

And I've been lucky enough to witness everything she has been willing to share with us all!

Congrats congrats congrats Rachel! aka Fiktshun!

You've been amazing to me at all times. You've been an inspiration not only to me but to a LOT of people, I should know. You've remained classy when the dog poop was hitting the fans all around. You've simply remained yourself and that's more than a lot of other bloggers can say for themselves!

Here's for last year and for the new one!!

Remember to always smile ;) So then you can always blog happy ;) Happy :D Happy! =)

Here are some ways via which you can stalk her ;)

-Blogger Of The Week #2- Haley @ Ya-Aholic

Wait what?
I thought I said this was supposed to be a weekly feature and I go ahead and post just one?
And it was on MARCH!!????
What part of WEEKLY didn't I get?!!!

I'm sorry I never continued this feature, which I think is kind of awesome if I do say so myself so here it goes. Again :D

-Remember, I'm only just starting this and in NO way am I intending to steal this idea from any blog, I just thought it'd be cool if I gave a shout-out to those blogs who I stalk regularly and give a chance to new blogs to be found!
If you're a book blogger or photography blogger and would like to be featured here on BookPics don't hesitate to email me at bookpics@hotmail.com and we can work a little something out ;) Don't be shy! Shoot me an email or go to BookPic's Facebook page or on twitter! -

Today I'm featuring another favorite blogger of mine and one of the very first blogs I found out here on the internet/blogosphere.

I stumbled upon Haley's blog way before I became a blogger, it was one of the first ones I discovered thanks to some blog hops.

I loved her energy right away. I think it was because of one of her IMM posts (I love love love bloggers who vlog!! Is like an addiction or something) or because of one review that I decided I needed to stalk her and follow her.

And well, the rest is history. Now I can't remember a time when I haven't stalked her secretly or not-so secretly. Either way I think at some times I got to be too much so I laid off for a while but she's been a constant inspiration for me to really just have fun and be me no matter what the blogosphere says.

Have you seen how she completely supports indie authors?? I love that about her!!! She was actually the one that, even though she doesn't know, was one of the reasons why I decided to once again take indie books for review and such.

Also!!!!! She's a very dear friend of another favorite of favorites blogger of mine!! Who might or might not be the blogger I'll be featuring next Saturday hehehe. Does Book Passion For Life ring any bells?? Well if it doesn't tune in this coming weekend for a bit of who they are and why I love their blog :D

But enough of me, I'm here just to really really REALLY strongly recommend you check out Haley's blog.
It's light, fun, happy and full of bookish recommendations. I promise you won't be disappointed!

Here are all the places where you can either contact or stalk her (what's the difference -_-)

-Review- Bully by Penelope Douglas

Goodreads shortie:
My name is Tate. He doesn't call me that, though. He would never refer to me so informally, if he referred to me at all.

Goodreads
Amazon

My Thoughts

(I'd recommend readers from the age of 15 and up)
I like to think I've always been good at telling people how a certain book, story, plot, character, etc... I've read about affects me in some ways or others...
Whenever I write a review is much more than a review for me, is like a mini story of what I went through when reading said book.

And in a way I think I've pulled it off so far. The stories and books that I've loved are and forever will be in my heart and mind, always there coming to mind now and then, appearing in my dreams some nights and well... You know, the usual stuff.

I've been moved and affected by so many books in my life I've lost count. Every book that I love leaves a piece of it and the author in my soul and I'll carry that with me forever.

But never in all my life, in all the years I've been reading and writing and talking about books has a book felt as if I were reading some sort of morbid story of my life.

Sure I've felt connected to hundreds and hundreds of characters before and I've cried and smiled and suffered and rooted for them more times than I dare admit.

But this book, this book went way up there with the books that have not only affected my life but the ones that have actually inspired a change in my life, the ones that in some way or another have made me grow up and change things in me that otherwise I would never have changed.

-I used to love people. I loved being a part of things and socializing. Now, I only wanted to be alone. Because alone was the only way I was safe.-

Bully, for me, was like seeing my life back when I was in high school being told from another POV. Remembering some really painful memories and others that took my breath away with how beautiful and precious they were/are.

If I were to tell you every single thing that I have in common with the female main character you'd laugh and get tired but really O_O I was a little scared to find out how similar we are.

Tate, believe it or not is a girl's name, starts off as a somewhat weak character, one that prefers running and avoiding confrontations than actually standing up to the bullies all around her, one that wants nothing more than to blend in the background and try not to draw any attention to her in case her bullies decide its time to have some fun at her expense.

And I felt for her, because she wasn't this person, not really. She didn't use to be this way. She, once upon a time, was a happy girl with an amazing boy as a best friend that brought out the strength she had deep inside her, brought out all the good and the happy that she kept buried thanks to the early death of one of her parents. She used to be a smiling girl that looked at a pink balloon and remembered that the world wasn't as bad and as cruel as she thought it was.

That's who Tate was, her life wasn't perfect but she wouldn't have had it any other way...

Until one day everything changed and Jared wasn't her happy place anymore, there wasn't a storm to look forward to in the days... There was only hurt and pain and sadness and more more more hurt.

And the worst part was, she thinks she's responsible for it. She thinks she somewhat did something to be where she is right now. She misses her best friend. She misses the freedom of being normal. And she thinks that going to her bullies and talking will "maybe" help her case.

"Calm down. I'm not saying you weren't a good friend. Of course you were. His issues started this. But it's easy to say you've tried and then just walk away. It's easy to say you can't force help on someone that doesn't want help and then walk away..."

Things got worse after that. The Jared she knew and loved so very much had turned into this monster... You can only imagine the things he did to her whether they were directly or indirectly.

So there I was, all freaked out and bawling my eyes out thinking this had to be a cruel sick joke from the author, I felt as if she had invaded my deepest and darkest memories that I'd kept secret from everyone but who used to be my BFF and Myself...

Back to the book, it was amazing! It was beautiful in the most hurtful way. It was just what I needed to want to read everything this author writes.

Of course then some things happen at the end that finally made me think I was reading someone else's story and not mine when the WORSE thing yet happens... As I said, it was right at the end so I spent most of the time relating to the character so much I had to take breaks in between reading.

After all the bullying, when Tate comes back from a very earned break from it all she decides she doesn't have to turn her back on things anymore, she decides to be the strong one, she decides to speak up and fight.

But then, she starts becoming someone she's not, she starts hurting people, she starts pushing away the only people that are on her side and that truly care about her.

The bullied becomes the bully.

Wow. Seriously, wow.

Thanks so much for writing a story that reminded me of old times and for making me see things very differently.

And also, thanks for not being afraid to put it all out there. This happens people, every single day, someone is bullied and lives are lost.

I just wish those kids out there knew they aren't alone. They're not the only ones that are being bullied ,they're certainly much more stronger than they think they are. And they're all beautiful.

No one, no one deserves to be bullied, even the bullies. Because bullies are made not born.

So, if you want to read a story about a story, if you want to see how some of the bullies that exist today are made, if you want to read about hot angry passion and sexy furious stares, and if you want to read about love and hate and how easily it is to go from one to the other, then by all means read Bully and be ready to have many many heart-pounding moments.

"Don't hide from me, and don't ask me to hide."

My weaknesses?
The book cover represents some parts of the book but not all of them. So I give it half a point.
The book tittle? So in the book!!! In and on it so completely, nailed it ;)

I give this book,
5= Clouds In The Heavens READ IT!

-Cover Reveal- Into the Storm by Melanie Moreland

Into the Storm by Melanie Moreland
Publication date: Late 2013
Genres: Adult, Romance
Cover Designed by Mayhem Cover Creations

Synopsis:
She is a woman on the run. Pain, loneliness and terror are what she is leaving. Where she is headed doesn’t matter as long as it’s away from the hell her life has become.

Joshua Bennett is trapped in a prison of his own making by the memories of his past. Traumatized and isolated, he is a reclusive writer, living a quiet, lonely life, his only companion his dog, Bear. It is what he knows, what he has accepted to be his life.

One dark night, one huge storm, and one ice patch brings them together. He finds himself with an unexpected houseguest with no memory. She wakes up a stranger to herself and the man watching her. Even more mysterious is the lack of any sort of identification with her or in her car. She is an enigma to both of them.

Trapped by the storm and isolated from the outside world, they slowly open up, learning to trust and love, until the world once again shows up, threatening the fragile peace of their newly discovered world, and tearing them apart.

There are many twists and turns as they struggle to find each other, overcoming both the mental and physical elements that keep them apart.

A story about overcoming our fears, finding love and learning to live again.

About The Author
Melanie Moreland lives a happy and content life in a quiet area of Ontario with her husband and fur children. Nothing means more to her than her friends and family, and she cherishes every moment spent with them.

Known as the quiet one with the big laugh, Melanie works at a local university and for its football team. Her (box) office job, while demanding, is rewarding as she cheers on her team to victory.

While seriously addicted to coffee, and somewhat challenged with all things computer-related and technical, she relishes baking, cooking, and trying new recipes for people to sample. She loves to throw dinner parties and socialize, and also enjoys travelling, here and abroad, but finds coming home is always the best part of any trip.

Melanie delights in a good romance story with some bumps along the way, but is a true believer in happily ever after. When her head isn’t buried in a book, it is bent over a keyboard, furiously typing away as her characters dictate their creative storylines, to let her share them with her readers.
