-review- Silver by Talia Vance

Goodreads shortie:

Brianna has always felt invisible. People stare right past her, including the one boy she can't resist, Blake Williams. But everything changes at a house party where Brianna's charm bracelet slips off and time stands still. In that one frozen, silver moment, Blake not only sees her, he recognizes something deep inside her she's been hiding even from herself.

The characters-scenery:
I can't even begin to tell you how much I loved each and every single character in this book. I've rummaged through all my mind and vocabulary and I've come up empty-handed.
Whether I was reading a scene with Brianna or with Blake, with Austin or with Chelsea, with Joe or with Haley.

I am truly at a loss.
ALL the characters made me feel, ALL characters inspired emotions.

Whether I was laughing or crying or cursing-yes, this book made me curse people T_T and I don't curse at all! I'm even surprised I knew how!-or smiling or melting or getting all hot and bothered or hating or... See?

Every single emotion known to man kind, I felt.

-I didn't need to see my soul to know the darkness inside.-

The Plot:
I have this bad habit of almost never reading book descriptions. Seriously... I HAVE to get rid of it.
But once I read the first word of the book? Didn't matter at all.

Author Talia Vance develops a plot that many have tried to write but very few manage to deliver.

It all revolves around, where do you come from, whom do you come from, or from WHAT do you come from?

When the things you rely on to keep your feet on the ground are pure school subjects, like math or science.
When even after the impossible has happened you simply, DO.NOT.WANT.TO.BELIEVE.
When being invisible is the only thing you have ever known.
When being in the shadows of others is your safe place.
When you've been kept secrets that even if they were told to you, you'd never listen or trust them.
When you're bonded to the one person that holds the power to kill you????

-It's weird how danger feels so much like safety.-

There's magic beyond the science, even in the simplest of things.
Once you open your eyes to the truth there is no going back.
Becoming visible is the most dangerous thing that could happen to you.
Silver light flashes through the shadows that once enveloped you... Now there's light, there's knowledge.
There's truth.
And... there's love.

Trust me when I tell you, this book is like nothing you have ever read before.

And the author's writing?
Exquisite! I wanted to eat all her words and be able to deliver them, with the same cadence with which she wrote them, on a daily basis.

-"God, warlock, angel, demon. Would not a rose by any other name smell as sweet?"-

Oh My Cloud! My Poor Feelings:
I felt like dying when I read the last words.
I didn't want to let go, I don't think I have let the story go from my mind to this day.

The beginning of the book was the THING for me, the part that got me and didn't let go. I cried, I related, I cried again. My emotions were raw and splayed all over my tear-streaked face when people came in the room at home. I didn't care. I just wanted to go back to reading this... this... I don't even know what to call this book. I want to wrap it tight, swallow it whole and let it fill every part of my body and mind. I'm traumatized, I'm marked for life. And I'm definitely ruined for all men out here in the real world.

How did she manage to make the one guy I distrusted and hated and whose intentions were the most awful ones, be the one I ended up in love with and who I rooted to live for till the very end of the book, is simply BEYOND ME!

I wanted to hate Austin, wanted to love Blake... Wanted to love Austin and wanted to hate Blake.
I completely despised the poor excuses of friends that Brianna had. I wanted to kiss Joe. I wanted to have magic and sneak up on all the people that wanted to harm Brianna.

Not that I would have been of much help, seeing as Brianna was a strong character throughout the whole story.

I don't think I have ever wanted  to be just a regular invisible girl as much as I did when I discovered what a Bandia was.

I don't think I'll ever look at silver color the same way EVER again in my life, and while we're at it, let's say I more than want a horse, a bracelet and... that loose drape garments have never held any appeal to me... until...

And, please let's just NOT start talking accents... Okay?

-We are a match made in hell.-

Let's finish with, My Weaknesses:

Both were on this book.
First, the tittle!
Guys, if the word tittle Silver, isn't any indication of what this book is about, I seriously don't know what is.
The tittle is the center stage of the book, is the book reduced to one word, though I might use some other more... explicit one.
I mean it. The tittle is SIMPLY PERFECT.
Second, the cover!
The cliffs, her gown, her hair, her pose, the colors. Dark blue, shadows, and silver light right at the edge... FAR, FAR ahead... but there...
I have a serious case of cover love, tittle love, author love, character~Blake cough Austin cough Joe cough Matt cough~love.

-My weakness is not the killer inside me at all. It's the girl.-

Talia Vance. I love you. I love your writing. I love everything about this book. I'm sorry I stalk you so much, but I'm not sorry I will continue the stalking. Wherever you are, know that in me, you have a complete and devoted reader.

After reading this, there is NO book by Talia Vance that will go unread by my eyes.

-Darkness and light together. Souls fused and melded.
Forever bound.-

A thrilling story about a girl that was invisible, about silver light that holds power, about mysterious and dark intentions, and about beauty and appeal being the most awful curse of all.

-rookie English & Spanish review- If I Stay by Gayle Forman #YASaves

[Non edited]
This book literally took my breath away...
I LOVE the way it's written! like lyrics from a song or something...
the life of this girl Mia...leaves you speechless...
one moment you're having breakfast with your family the next're totally alone, with not one person being able to help you but yourself!

Mia has to choose between coming back to life as "she doesn't know it" or simply give in and reunite with her whole it worth it to stay in this world?
or is it going to be too much to bear?
will the love from the people still alive be enough?
will Adam, Kim, gran, gramps, Henry, Willow be reason enough for her to decide to stay??
it's a really realistic and touching story, a one that made tears run down my face with me not noticing until they wet some of the pages from the book...

I give this book
10special-fotitos(special rating for over-the-top-I'll-never-get-over-this book) =
I cried for things I didn't know possible I was capable of.

-rookie review- Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins

[Non edited]
I know that when I read the first hunger games book I said that it reminded me form the Uglies series...not anymore! AT ALL!!
this book...from start to finish was a world on it own...I can practically feel it happening all around you...
I think I would never EVER! be able to overcome everything Katniss manages to on this 3rd and last book...
who's the enemy? who's your friend? who to trust????really really trust??
when to give up? when to kill? when to speak? when to kiss? when to CRY??
if the book ended up with Katniss not crying at all over all the loses she's had over all the books I would've ended up not liking the book at all...
but GOD!! did it blew me away! between rescuing Peeta, trying not to loose the only true friend she's had her entire life Gale, watching as her sister Prim grows up without her being able to prevent it, following orders from yet another president who seems to have a liking for games as well as Snow, Coin, and an endless list to run through...I think Katniss nails it down well...even if I can't agree with every thought and action from hers...I can always put myself in her position and over rule every bad thought I had from her in this book...
I love the quote at the ending...and the Epilogue was favorite part of the book...
ended up crying as usual...but that's not a just ignore it^-^

I give this book

-rookie review- Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins

[Non edited]
I'll just go ahead and say I loved this book so much more than the first's just that it hooked me right from the beginning while the 1st only achieved to do that like halfway through the book...
I really can't see how they're going to manage doing all this things from the book into a movie but it BETTER BE GOOD!! Katniss and her new dilema of living or dying for...
what's worth more?? her life? or Peeta's??
glad we get to see more of every character in here...
from BFF GALE to president Snow...
and really take pitty on Katniss...when everyone you trusted betrayed you and the ones who haven't they make sure to let you know they don't want your trust but your life...when everything you believed is not anymore...when the one you love is torn away from you with nothing to help him but his talent with words while you are dragged to "safety"
wow...the list is endless...but I understand her why she just shuts everyone out of her heart and ears and simply wish everything away...
read it or die!

I give this book

-rookie review- The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins

[Non edited]
I have to admit that at first I got this feeling of dejavú from The Uglies series...
still...way out of proportion^^
loved the whole idea of the hunger games and the world as it is...
so...Katniss(had a hard time remembering our heroine's name...but I think I've manage it) resuming has lost her father, mother too by not being able to trust her,and the only ones left for her are pr
im her little 12 year-old sister and her bff Gale...
they do EVERYTHING when she finds herself going to the hunger games with no other but the boy responsible for being alive until that very moment...the world turns up-side-down!
they literally have to kill every other 22 kids from 12 to 18 that go from the other 11 districts apart from hers and Peeta's...(the GUY)
everything goes...uhm...let's say right...until the rules of the game changes and she has to depend not only on herself but on other people too...(don't want to spoil anything)
I guess that's as far as I'll go with contents of the book...but seriously...
I found the way it was written a little too stiff for a 16 year old...but can't blame her...I mean she's the one to put food on the table not her mom...
I really felt that Katniss is way too naive...and...idk...could've seen things way better and solve them way better than how she doesn' but...she manages...
in the end...
HUGE CLIFFHANGER...I mean at least for me...I will definitely will start reading the other one right now...

I give this book
5fotitos=~Sobs hard~Too good to be true!

-rookie review- Hunger by Jackie Morse Kessler

[Non edited]
Really hard-sad-happy-tear-filled story...
I started this book not so sure if I would be able to enjoy it let alone finish it. But ended up so captured in the story of Lisa that I couldn't decide wether to laugh or be mad at her.
She struggles definitely completely fights with herself to be THIN!!ugh!!
the way Kessler put this story into words left me wondering if there could be an answer to all o
f our problems that could be that simple and yet because of its simpleness we don't see it 'cause we're always thinking that the answer to all of our problems have to be BY FACT difficult and hard to reach.
So seeing this girl fighting with anorexia thinking that it's her againts the world, that she alone has the BIGGEST problem of the universe, realize that when she is neglecting herself to EAT to be HEALTHY there are people all around the world dying for that pice of lettuce she just threw up...
A really down-to-earth yet magic-filled story of anorexia and the hardships that it brings when settled on a person's daily life.
Kessler not just approaches anorexia but hunger at the same time...completely filling and giving meaning to the tittle of the book!!

I give this book

Hollowed Blog Tour Stop- Interviewing Author Kelley York

Hello my beautiful BookPic-ERS!!
Hope you've all been great!
Stalking book blogs, reading books, tweet/facebook-stalking authors, you know, the usual!

As you can see, the Hollowed blog tour stops today by the blog!!!
~Insert me screaming of excitement~

And I'm freaking out because...
The VERY Kelley York -gasps- is dropping by to answer my question attack some questions!!

I've told you before, I fell in love with her writing ever since I read her contemporary book, Hushed-review-last year. She captivated me in a way I didn't think possible.

Now, she's expanding her audience with this new book! Fantasy, Paranormal, call it what you like.
Hollowed is not only dark-oh yeap, I've started it already. Trust me, you don't want to miss reading it.-but fun AND exciting.

But enough of my ramblings, let's get to the mwahahahaha um, query, I mean,

Thanks Kelley SO very much for the opportunity to take part on the blog tour!
Seriously, you have NO, Zero, NO NO NO, NIENTE, NADA, NO idea of how starstruck I've been... Ever since I participated on the Cover Reveal for Hollowed... And now... This?
My happiness knows NO boundaries.

BP: First of all, thank you so very very much for this!
*-* I've told you before that ever since I read Hushed I was destined to stalk you-online of course.- And you were doomed to have a stalker ^____^
Anyway, I know most people start author interviews with things like 'tell us a bit about you' or something between those lines but... Let's make it interesting.

BP: Can you describe yourself in only 3 words? 5 Max ^_^
Awkward. Nerdy. Loner.
BP: [Where have you been all my life T_T]
BP: Going a bit more serious here, when did you first started to consider yourself as a writer?
I've always considered myself a writer, because I've always written. I wrote primarily fan fiction for many, many years, and very slowly inched my way into original work. I didn't consider myself an author until I'd completely my first book, though!
BP: Could you tell is in 10 words or less, what Hollowed is about?
A newly-turned vampire adjusts to life while uncovering the lies in her past.
Man, that's hard. And terrible!
BP: [No it's not, hahaha I like it actually.]

BP: What was the hardest part of writing the book? The easiest? The funniest?
The hardest part was probably the romance. Because I love Briar and Noah, I wanted to make everything sunshine and rainbows for them, but that wouldn't have made a very interesting story. Sometimes it was hard to put them in situations that would hurt htem.
The easiest part was probably Briar herself. She's a very easy narrator to write for. The funniest—Fred. The scene with him and Briar in her hotel room.

BP: [I haven't gotten to that part yet T_T you're teasing me!]

BP:  Asking about your writing in general here. Has there ever been a time that you've cried while writing a scene for a book? Were they happy or sad tears?
I've cried while writing before, yes. They were always sad tears. I don't recall if I did while writing Hollowed, but I know I did in the original draft of the second book—Shadow VoicesI also cried once or twice writing Hushed, because Archer was such an emotionally damaged character. When he was hurt, and I was conveying that hurt, I could feel it.
BP: [Don't remind me please! I was such a mess. Archer-sighs-he's one of my favorite characters EVER!]
BP: Do you have any favorite author right now? Has she/he always been your favorite?
I have several! Hannah Moskowitz is one of my long-standing faves. George R.R. Martin is another, though admittedly, I haven't read anything other than his A Song of Ice and Fire series. I've only read Isaac Marion's one book, but I absolutely loved it and will read anything else he ever does.
BP: [I'm so happy I know at least one of your faves!!!]

BP: What's your least favorite genre of book to read?
Probably science fiction or dystopians. I'm not a fan of either.
BP: [High fives* Science Fiction is one of my least, only second to Historical. Though, I actually like dystopia :D]

Now... some less-heavy questions :D

BP: If someone wrote a book about you, what would the tittle be? Why?
Haha. It'd be something like, "The Girl who Never Grew Up." Because I haven't. I'm still a big kid at heart who loves cartoons and video games and fandoms, and I consider the muses in my head to be like best friends because I know them so well.
BP: [As if I needed any more reasons to love you]
BP: If a movie was made about your life, what Hollywood star would you get to play the lead role?
About MY life? Man, I don't know. No one in Hollywood looks like me. It'd have to be someone really goofy and socially stunted. Like a female version of Michael Cera.
BP: Have any work in progress right now you could share something about? ^_^  Or is it top secret?
Several! I'm working on the second book in the Half Light SagaShadow VoicesI'm also doing revisions on a completed LGBT contemporary story, and I have another contemporary called Dirty London that I recently started. I'm a busy girl.
BP: [Busy indeed. I can't wait for your next contemporary. I admit it. I'm a KelleyYorkAddict. Dirty London?? O____O]
BP: Okay... If you were to be an animal... what animal would you choose to be?
Ooh, a snow leopard. Or a wolf. I love them both so much.

BookPics Fasties!

BP: Hot or Cold?

BP: Summer, Winter, Fall, Spring?
BP: [High fives*]

BP: Coffee, Chocolate, or Tea?

BP: Early riser or Night owl?
Night owl.
(Though I will say, during the winter some of my favorite moments are waking up around 5am, unable to sleep, and listening to the rain in the dark.)
BP: [Gasps, really? During winter? O_O Um, I might try it.]

BP: Sweet or Salty?
BP: [This one was hard to answer, wasn't it?]

BP: Bad Boys or Good Guys?
Good guys.

Oh My Clouds!
You survived my question attack interview!!
That means... You're awesomely strong!! hehehe.

Thanks again!

And to all of you guys! If you still haven't added Hollowed to your wishlists or goodreads or shelves.
Go now!!

Bookography #21 -The Tammara Webber Edition-

Bookography is a post created by Kristina from Kristina's World of Books. Where you can combine both of my very favorite things in the world. Photography & Books ;) So grab a camera and do your thing. You don't have to be a professional or anything like that. Just share your love of books through a picture and that's it ;)
-She usually posts them on wednesdays~
So make sure you stop by her blog and share the love!

So, it's been a while and I think that, again, it's all my fault.
I've been so busy with work and running errands that I've completely slacked on posting the pictures I'd love to post.
But enough of that.

Here's today's picture.

I can't even tell you how much these 4 books mean to me. I seriously just can't.

I cried when I got them... The thing is, I love each and every single one of them, and this picture is representing yet, another HUGE step on Tammara's writing career.
Now ALL of her 4 published books can be bought on printed format!

Let's all just dance because of that!!!!!!!!!

And as always, I couldn't do this without sharing a book quote.
~psss, I didn't edit this picture at all, just took it right when I got them.~

"I’m going to make the world more beautiful.
What are you going to do? Make money?
I’m so impressed."

BookPics is Curious- Blog Tours

-Lol I wanted to make a button but this seemed easier and faster. For now-

Hey my beautiful people!
Hope you're all having fun reading all the amazing books or writing or smiling or you know the usual haha... Whatever that is ^__________^

Lately I've been seeing a lot of Book blog tours going on.

When I first started to stalk book pages on facebook I never even saw a link to a blog tour, let alone know what one was supposed to be about.

Later on I found out about book blogs but only randomly saw the famous post titled 'Tour Stop' or 'Blog Tour Giveaway' or things between those lines... I almost never read the posts, I mean, I didn't know what they were and as ignorant as I was I don't think I ever stopped to discover just what the post was about.

I think it took me almost a year to discover that the famous 'Tours' were all about promoting a book before, when, and after their scheduled release dates.

Believe me, I thought it was genius and awesome and all kinds of fun... And I started to follow them fiercely, that's basically how I got to 'know', 'meet', and follow so many blogs on such a short time!

I couldn't keep up!

I swear to you I tried my hardest to stop by at least, 80% of all the blogs that participated in only one tour. Imagine when there were several going on and I wanted to take part in each and every single one of them.

I felt like the worst person and book-lover, blog-stalking persona ever.

I mean, there are a lot of great things that happen throughout a blog tour; you have special content revealed, author interviews, character interviews, giveaways, book excerpts, reviews, guest posts by either authors or characters... infinite content and all there for you to feast on!!!!

I almost couldn't believe it!

But still, I couldn't catch up. And I seriously don't like to just go ahead and follow a blog for the sake of entering a giveaway much less just leave a simple 'Thanks for the Giveaway' (unless there's only a giveaway post without anything else added to it.) comment, I don't know you but if you are knew to the blog or to me, haha, my comments are LOOOOOOONGER than life, even more so on the blog I stalk daily and blogs I stalk weekly...

My freak persona just doesn't like to be 'one more' I want the person writing the post(blogger) and participating on the blog tour, to know, to feel that I've read her/his post, that I've taken the time to check the interview out, to read the guest post the author, Oh so AWESOMELY took the time to write...

I'm a freak and I love it hahaha. Anyway, my comments will be a discussion for another 'BookPics is Curious' post haha.

Continuing and trying to get to the point here.

Afterwards...I started to get to know more about blog tours, know a bit more about the people that hosted, people that could participate AND -where I come in- the people, and when I say people I mean bloggers haha, that couldn't participate.

I was good, I thought it was just too much responsibility, promoting a book from a beloved author is not something I take lightly, I was happy about it. I was happy and cool and safe on the comfort zone that was my role as a blog stalker and random 'blog tour' stalker....

Then came my first chance... my VERY first chance at participating!
Blog Tour + Me + First Chance =
Complete and utter fail!

I know, I know... Let me tell you the reason.

I was sooo excited about participating that I didn't take the time to get to know a bit about the book I was going to be promoting, about the author... Nothing, I was a really bad girl and didn't do all the research I've always done when starting something...

Suffice it to say... I was done with blog tours and more so... done with stalking them...

I didn't think I could do it... I didn't think I had it in me to be able to be a 'Stop' on the so coveted 'blog tour Z' or 'blog tour X'...

I gave up....

I had given up right?
I KNOW I did!

FAIL again!

I said yes to participating on one other blog tour before... before... ~sniff~ Before the unthinkable happened...
I couldn't say NO to the tour I'm currently in. -Authors Are Rockstars- is pretty much my dream come true...
I took a time to just cry of happiness when I got a stop... And I think this tour might, MIGHT have just cured me of my aversion to participating in any other...-look at sidebar and see on just how many I'm participating or will be participating soon- blog tours *_________*

Argh... this isn't getting anywhere so I'll just stop here...

The thing was...

Do you follow blog tours?
If so, how do you manage to do it?
Do you comment a lot?
What's the best part, based on personal experience, of following them?
Have you ever participated on a blog tour? Better yet Ever hosted a blog tour?
Did you enjoy your experience?
Do you think you'll ever be participating in the near future?
Did you ever have a bad experience with one?

Argh, so many questions... I promise to you I had a lot of questions when I first started this post... Now I'm blank...

Remember that my stop on the Authors Are Rockstars blog tour was here last week! And the giveaway is still going on! (Check sidebar and click on the giveaway button.) And also, the Hallowed stop is coming soon! Kelley York will be stopping by the blog to answer some questions :D and, Ashen Winter stop is also on it's way...
Remember that I love stalkers hahaha

PS. Sorry the post was so long T_T
