-BookPics Recommends- Contemporary #1

Image
I'll be trying to post these kinds of posts at least once a week.  Every week I'll try to spice things up a bit by recommending you different kinds of genres from different books and obviously different authors. The day I post it will be all about an specific genre and then an specific book or series from just one author so that I can have more authors to recommend later on when I go back to that genre :D Beware though, it's hard for me to read recently published books so my recommendations might not be the most up to date ones but they will certainly be from all the books I've read :D I haven't read THAT many but still I've got a few that I fell head-over-heels in love with and cannot get enough of them, never. So here it goes. To start... Contemporary! What better way to do this than by recommending you the first YA contemporary book I ever read! If I Stay by Gayle Forman *** Just listen, Adam says with a voice that sounds

-A Little Letter For Me-

Dear Me, Don't forget to do things that make you happy every single day of your life. Try and try and try. Don't give up on doing these happy things just because you're shy. Remember there's a world out there and not everyone will be mean to you.  Just try. But be happy. Always. Because it is the only selfish thing you get to do for the rest of your life! Who benefits from you being happy? Exactly! YOU! Be brave :) Sincerely, Me

-BookPics Is Curious- Traveling Books?

Image
So, I've been thinking. If you love, like, and can travel and are a booklover just like most of us, how do you pick which books are coming on the trip with you and which aren't. (Remember we're talking printed editions here since I know eBook readers are kind of on demand right now I still like to take with me one or 6 hehehe depending on the period of time I'm going to be away from home. Anyway, PRINTED books people ^_^ ) I'm a stinker for rereads. If there is one thing that keeps me from reading new books is the fact that I can't get over my book hangovers... Specially if it's a book that's the last in a series or if it's a standalone book or idk, I have tons of reasons why I read and read the same book over and over again and never get tired of it. So, if I love rereading books, how in the world am I expected to pick books to take with me for a long period of time away from home? Simple, I don't take them. Out of all the books t

-BookPics Is Curious- Canada&USA ¿Seriously?

I seriously seriously shouldn't even say I'm a blogger anymore!! It's been FOREVER since I posted and I feel awful. Not because I haven't posted but because I have so much to say and I haven't taken the time to actually write it down somewhere, anywhere. And then of course comes the part where I completely forgot about my blogoversary last month and this month as well so I might as well just cry in a corner for the rest of my life. I'm so so sorry -pets blog- my life has been completely and utterly hectic this year working on some paperwork and then moving and then moving again and traveling and dreaming and dreaming some more that I haven't even had the chance to read much which simply put, sucks. I miss blogging. I miss rambling on and on about silly things and not so silly things. I miss sharing with the world my thoughts on books I loved or didn't love that much, I miss stalking my favorite authors so much!! I miss stalking my favorite blog

USA here I come!! Wait What?

Image
I AM GOING TO THE US as in USA!! SERIOUSLY I CAN'T EVEN EXPRESS MY OH MY GOD -flips---flops---flips---- I look like a fish out of the water right now. Thank you God T_T I don't know if I'll be able to meet any authors while I'm there (I'm going to LA and probably try to visit some bookish friends that live like 6 hours away from there but shhh don't tell my uncle.) but I will try my very very best!! If I die of happiness it'll be there so y'all have to make do and bury me in foreign land and all. Anyway. I'm alive, I'm reading and I'm a mix of all sorts of nervousness and excited-ness and giddiness.

Either way I hope you're reading something and this wednesday what's currently keeping me up at night is, Be With Me by J.Lynn I started this yesterday and I'm almost done, you have no idea, NO idea how much I had been waiting for this tittle. I missed the chance to get the galley so I was impatiently waiting to FINALLY get to read Jase's story :D And while I'm certainly enjoying it so far my favorite remains the first one, Wait For You. Hopefully something will happen in this book that'll make me change my opinion XD What are you guys reading this Wednesday?

-Review- Legend by Marie Lu

Goodreads Shortie: What was once the western United States is now home to the Republic, a nation perpetually at war with its neighbors. Born into an elite family in one of the Republic's wealthiest districts, fifteen-year-old June is a prodigy being groomed for success in the Republic's highest military circles. Born into the slums, fifteen-year-old Day is the country's most wanted criminal. But his motives may not be as malicious as they seem... * Goodreads * * The Book Depository * * Amazon * My Thoughts? What in the world did I just read? Where AM I?! What's happened with the world the last couple of days? Can someone please NOT wake me up? I cannot comprehend... Why am I not inside L.A. with Day and Tessa right now?! -... I make a silent promise to my brother's killer. I will hunt you down. I will scour the streets of Los Angeles for you. Search every street in the Republic if I have to. I will trick you and deceive you, lie, cheat

Either way I hope you're reading something and this wednesday what's currently keeping me up at night is, Legend by Marie Lu This is my second attempt to read this book. The first time I had to put it down without even finishing the first page because I had to read one book for review and I never went back to it again. Today I plan to start it and FINISH it since I just read the description and it sounds like a story I would enjoy. Let's hope for the best! What are you guys reading this Wednesday?

-Review- Picture Perfect by Alessandra Thomas

Goodreads Shortie: ... When Cat faces her fears and bares it all for the class, she realizes that she's posing naked in front the most gorgeous, buffest guy she's ever seen in her life. He asks her out after the class, and after one steamy night together, Cat's absolutely smitten ... Goodreads Amazon  (It's FREE on Kindle!) My Thoughts (Recommend this book for readers 17+) This was my first 2014 read and while it didn't exactly blew my socks off it definitely left an impression. Being a big girl myself I gotta say it's normal for me NOT to find big-sized girls in the books I enjoy reading but now and then I find the rare book that features a girl like that and in this case the girl is the main character and the whole story/book revolves around her and her size/weight. I'm being honest here when I say I really liked the author's writing BUT didn't like that main character's voice that much. Picture Perfect is about not

Either way I hope you're reading something and this wednesday what's currently keeping me up at night is, First up, Unteachable by Leah Raeder This is a really good and great New Adult, ever since I read Easy by Tammara Webber I was doomed to love all things NA and when I saw a sale for this one and all the mixed reviews it had gotten I instantly pinned for it. Cue my BookAngel Elena buying it for me. But even though it had been sitting on my kindle for a month I finally decided to pick it up at the beginning of the year. Wow doesn't even begin to cover all the feels and gasps this book has inspired in me. I'm thoroughly enjoying it and since I'm almost done I have zero clue as to what the ending might be, yes, I'm lo

-BookPics Is Curious- What's Happened To Me, To Us?

Wow, I suck. I haven't been posting as I would like to, I haven't been reviewing. AT ALL. I haven't been looking for galleys as I used to, I haven't been entering book giveaways, I haven't been visiting my favorite book blogs. I, simply put, haven't done anything on the blogosphere lately, better said, since last August. Sure I've been posting here and there but seriously, it wasn't something I completely put myself into, the only book review I last remember really wanting to write was the one for Unravel Me by Tahereh Mafi because it completely blew my heart away. I was amazing and up until now I really need to find that place again, the one in which I couldn't stop stalking my favorite bloggers, the time I stalked my favorite authors whether they paid me attention or not, the time when book bloggers formed this community and everyone was nice with everyone and all the drama and ugly didn't happen. I want all that back, I want to blog a
