Bookography #6

Bookography is a post created by Kristina from Kristina's World of Books. Where you can combine both of my very favorite things in the world. Photography & Books ;) So grab a camera and do your thing. You don't have to be a professional or anything like that. Just share your love of books through a picture and that's it ;)
-She usually posts them on wednesdays~ So make sure you stop by her blog and share the love!

Kristina told me that this week, her picture would be about the place or chair or anywhere we read...AND, sadly, I don't have a chair, I simply read in my room, in bed, because that's the only place where either my sisters or parents don't bug me for reading too much.
Lately it hasn't been so good because it's been SO HOT in here...BUT I LOVE nature, I love taking pictures of nature and I love even more the opportunity to READ in between-among nature. So, last year I went on a trip, mountain-as if living in one wasn't enough lol- and simply took my book out and sprawled myself on the grass and lost myself in my, then, current read...Of course I had to take a picture while doing so.
I might not have a really cool chair to read on, or a really neat, clean and not-shared-with-little-sister room either BUT give me nature any time and I'll just dive right in along with my book. I just can't help it.

-Nature, at least, didn't need an operation to be beautiful. It just was.-

-review- Smokeless Fire by Samantha Young

-As she stopped before him, he tilted his head back and the corner of his mouth quirked up. A flash of emotion sparked in his eyes transforming him from cute guy next door to sexy and dangerous 'anything is possible with me' guy.-

Why In the heavens did I EVER put this book on hold?!

I'm in love, I'm terrified and I'm completely enthralled with this story!
This is the first Jinn(Genie) book I have ever read in my entire life.

I'm so happy to have finally finished it!
Ari is so completely broken in the beginning I found myself completely in love with her character. We watch her develop and transform in this strong yet vulnerable girl, who after learning who she really is, is faced with decisions she would have never even considered before!
Jai is one sexy hecks of a Jinn...completely mysterious and dark and just HOT...quite literally.

"Uh...why is there a half-naked hot guy in my living room?"

The story takes you to a world both cold and hot, strange yet familiar(to Jinn), awesome but terrifying. With turns and twists that I had never seen coming. Fast-paced and funny. I couldn't help but quirk a smile every time Jai did, shiver when The Red King appeared, numb out when The White King was in a scene and be angry when Charlie was being, well, Charlie.

When Ari has to decide between life as she knows it or saving the life of the one and only person that seems to be her constant and whom she loves more than her own life in the world...
When choosing is losing...
When losing is hurting...
When hurting is leaving...
When leaving is accepting...
When accepting doesn't seem real...
Ari is strong, unsure and with baby steps at the beginning but feeling surer and more capable with each passing day.
Jinn are wicked, cold and, awesome all at the same time!
Samantha's writing still has me guessing...Who is REALLY the bad guy? Who can Ari and I trust? Is Jai lying? Is Charlie true? Is Ari simply...just...a tool?
Samantha!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This book is AMAZING!! I cannot wait to read what happens next!

"Good or evil?"
If it was possible his dark eyes seemed to grow even blacker. "Why are humans so obsessed with that distinction?"

-Again, my weakness was reached by Samantha when the tittle of the book appeared in the story itself...that makes it all the better and AMAZING!-

Read this book if you haven't! And if you have...WHY haven't you gushed to me about the awesomeness of it?

I give this book
10special-fotitos(special rating for over-the-top-I'll-never-get-over-this book) =
I cried for things I didn't know possible I was capable of.

-review- Spellcaster by Cara Lynn Shultz

I was on top of the world when I got approved for a galley of this book, I first read Spellcaster on NG and even though I haven't been able to get a finished copy I needed not to worry because Shultz made it impossible not to remember ^_^
Now I'll just stop rambling and leave you with my thoughts on the book;
I really don't know what happened. It started out soo good and awesome and full of Brendan and halfway through...I just couldn't continue...
I hate when this happens and I really think it had less to do with the book and more with me getting sick right in the middle of my reading...
I really can't wait to get a finished copy and give it a second shot!
There IS something dark and dangerous lurking and waiting for Emma and Brendan to let their guards down. Right when everything was supposed to be perfect it strikes leaving Emma to make decisions she rather not make & Brendan trying his hardest to let Em be independent. Angelique, I didn't quite enjoy THOUGH I thought she was soooo funny at the most weird and awkward times.
All in all I think this book will be a feast to all who enjoyed Spellbound and more so if you're in love with Brendan as I am.
Author Cara's writing was almost the same as it was on Spellcaster... I am still battling with my mixed feelings related to her characters but Brendan was awesome as always...and I just love my love stories...

I got this early copy(galley) from the publisher in exchange of my honest review

I give this book
3fotitos=might've made me cry.

Cover Reveal! Ashen Winter by Mike Mullin

I don't usually do this kind of thing BUT I so have to make an exception for this book.
Ashfall was one of my favorite 2011 books and being able to read an advanced copy on Netgalley didn't help, as I read it on May and the book released on October.
Then I had and still am waiting the year between Ashfall and Ashen's a long long lonely wait...
Enough of me.
Check out the amazing cover of Ashen Winter-Ashfall book #2-

Isn't it AWESOME it portrays so much and if I'm right it has a LOT to do with the book itself.
Here's the description of the book
(Slight SPOILERS for book #1)
~It's been over six months since the eruption of the Yellowstone supervolcano. Alex and Darla have been staying with Alex's relatives, trying to cope with the new reality of the primitive world so vividly portrayed in Ashfall, the first book in this series. It's also been six months of waiting for Alex's parents to return from Iowa. Alex and Darla decide they can wait no longer and must retrace their journey into Iowa to find and bring back Alex's parents to the tenuous safety of Illinois. But the landscape they cross is even more perilous than before, with life-and-death battles for food and power between the remaining communities.
When the unthinkable happens, Alex must find new reserves of strength and determination to survive.~

My Reading Pile #7

My reading pile is an idea created by Fiktshun in which you share what your reads for the week are or well the wishful reads-rereads-rerereads and well you get the hint. Check her blog out you know I'm a devoted stalker, I mean, follower ;)

MRP progress & status:
Wow, I did manage to finish reading and share my thoughts on My Soul to Save though I haven't managed to continue my reading of The Black Dagger Brotherhood: An Insider's Guide. My sister found me a book I had been dying to read since last year and finally read it so I got a bit sidetracked and distracted from the guide. Maybe I'll get a chance to finish it this or next week.
That said these are the books on my reading pile for this week.

Spellcaster by Cara Lynn Shultz
Got approved for a galley on NG, remember me freaking out on you a couple of MRP posts ago? Well the book is releasing March 27th. So I hope to get it read and reviewed by then.
And. Since we're talking about eGalleys I'm going to go eBook this week and pick back a book I stopped reading a while ago.

Back on BP's Pile

The Demon's Lexicon by Sarah Rees Brennan
I can't wait to fall in love with Nick all over again! I was 48% done with the book before I decided to put it down. But now I hope to get it read because I was seriously LOVING every single bit of it!

Netgalley Pile Adds:
I got freaking approved for a galley of The Girl in the Clockwork Collar by Kady Cross. I LOVED LOVED LOOOVED the first book on the Steampunk Chronicles and since I haven't had the chance to get a final copy of that book I'll have to try really hard to remember the little details of it.
I'm not a historical, steampunk kind of reader but there are special books like THIS that change my mind from time to time.
I'm really excited to get lost once again in this awesome story!
YEY! I made it! Another IMM & MRP post!

What did YOU guys get in your mail box this week?

Bookography #5

Bookography is a post created by Kristina from Kristina's World of Books. Where you can combine both of my very favorite things in the world. Photography & Books ;) So grab a camera and do your thing. You don't have to be a professional or anything like that. Just share your love of books through a picture and that's it ;)
-She usually posts them on wednesdays~ So make sure you stop by her blog and share the love!

Today's Bookography is based on my favorite books from one of my favorite authors of all time.

-My heart feels full and empty
with all of the beginnings and endings.-
The Scorpio Races by Maggie Stiefvater

I chose this phrase because the books in my photo showcases Beginning and Endings. Shiver was the first book on her Wolves of Mercy Falls trilogy and Forever the last. The Scorpio Races was a stand alone book so the concept falls solely on it too.
-Excerpt taken from TSC ARC-

-I had planned to take pictures of all her printed books. But I don't own Linger so I went with this concept instead ^_^ -

-reread thoughts- My Soul to Save by Rachel Vincent

This is the sound of my...
~AN->Again, I am not reviewing as I would any other book.
This books hold a special place in my heart~
Oh God. This I-don't-know-what-number-of-reread time of reading...was a long and suffering one.
This is officially my LEAST favorite book of the series...this means of course that all are my favorites and that I love them all but I love this one less than the others.
I reread this book having in mind what author Rachel Vincent once said about this book.
I wanted so desperately to keep in mind what she said, that this book is a pivotal one... But in the end... I just couldn't stop thinking that this is exactly were everything goes downward for Kaylee and everybody near her.

Listing My Reasons of Freaking-Out
*I have to say this is the book in which I LOVE NASH the most. He's so protective and loving and caring and it shows that he really just wants only what's best for Kaylee and tries to keep her on track.
*This time around I literally hated Kaylee...hated her...for trying to be the hero...when she definitely couldn't and wouldn't had been able to be one if not for the help of Nash & others... This is the one book that made me think of her not as a hero but as a selfish girl who wants to prove something that doesn't need to be proved. Everyone, every single person warned her and wanted to protect her, though I kind of understood her need to help she needed to know that everything has a limit and for me, she obviously surpassed it...
*I liked Tod even LESS in this book. I didn't and couldn't understand most of the time why in the world he wanted Kaylee and Nash to help him.
*I LOVED that Harmony had a more important roll in the story as well as Kaylee's dad AND Emma...who I simply love in EVERY SINGLE BOOK.
*Remarking again my  love for Nash. ^_^
*I simply couldn't comprehend the whole purpose of everything.
*I got frustrated to the point of wanting to STOP reading soon after starting it...though the first couple of times I read this book I simply flew by it...reading it in one sitting and wanting to read it all over again after finishing...This time? Not so much. I had to DRAG my reading the last chapters.
I think it has to do LESS with what the book is in itself because really? It's an amazing book with amazing writing and INCREDIBLE plot...
More to do with the fact that I have read all published books so far and therefore KNOW what happens next...and I simply couldn't help but try and root for a chance that by some kind of miracle the story might change at some point and that it'll all be better soon after.
It didn't and even though I'm still irrevocably in love with every single book...I hate to admit that I would have loved for things to end different.
All is over now...I was lucky enough to vent to a friend a day before ending the book.
Now, the world is back in it's right place. I'm happy with the book again.
And...I CANNOT WAIT to start the 3rd book!
Thanks Rachel Vincent for making me sleepless all over again!

I reread this book for the SSRC. Remember it's never too late to join! The button to submit to the challenge is on the right sidebar ¬¬, the only one hehehe. The first spoiler chat is coming soon!

We've gone SKULL!

I cannot stop looking at the blog now bookpic-ers!
We've gone skull and pink and black and neon-green and all kinds of awesome!

I have to admit.
I had never thought of going all pretty on the blog since I completely repel technology and HTML? ~runs away~
And even if I did kind of understand any of that...I didn't and still don't have the $$$ to buy a blog template and make it look al awesome for you guys!

So. Even though it was NOT in my plans nor did I ever DREAM to have the work of the one and only-first because of FIKTSHUN and second because she's seriously the only blog designer I know off- Rachel @ParajunkeeDesign. And never in my dreams would I have thought of having a nice look on the blog. I have NO ONE repeating NO ONE to thank but the awesome Kristina!!!!!!!! @Kristina's World of Books I mean it!
She participated to win a blog template over at Rachel's site and WON and after I don't know what sort of sorcery, her mind decided to pass it up on me T__________T
Being the undecided person that I am it took me FOREVER to choose between the 4 options she had. Then narrow it down to 2 was even more exhausting. But. Don't even get me started when I had to choose 1! Yes! ONE 1 UNO! I think by the time I finally chose, CHOSE meaning I went and gave a coin to my mom and she threw it and this was the design that won, Kristina was more than sorry for having offered it to me!
And after I got the template email from Rachel-Fiktshun- and freaked out because I thought it'd be too hard to handle but NO! here it is! And I can't believe even Rachel-Fiktshun- got involved in all this! The template also came with a favicon...still don't know if I'll use it right now.
Still. Kristina! Thank you so very much! You made me cry, you made me laugh, and you made me stress all at the same time, exactly what happens to me while reading a book!

Please be sure to follow all of them! Kristina and RachelX2 I follow all their respective blogs and even though I'm a new follower of Rachel's design site-I'm a follower of her book blog- I'm sure if any of you wants a fresh new and fun look for your blog Rachel is sure to be a good starting point!
Kristina! Thank you so much again!

And you my beautiful people!
What do you think of us all fancied up??

Here's the favicon ->

IMM #19 I'm-sorry-I'm-sick-insaniTEA party EDITION

IMM is hosted by The Story Siren I looove love her blog! So you really should check it out!

I made a VLOG finally!
I'm sorry I sound so awful and blue and look like crap.
I'm sorry I didn't get to gush more about Leah Clifford's A Touch Morbid release party but really!
I saw ERIKA (I misspelled it the first time I wrote this post) >.< lol. And can't remember the name of the guy but he was nice too!
I saw Az so many times I think my eyes rolled back and stopped working.
I saw Aimée Carter (Author of The Goddess Test) and Courtney A. Moulton (Author of Angelfire) were there too! Even mamma Clifford whom I met once before in the most embarrassing conditions and Lauren DeStefano (Author of Wither) dropped by the chat too...don't know if she was actually there though.
It was amazing! Amazing!
So I thank Leah Clifford for asking if it'd be okay to live stream the tea party. And the book store for making it happen!
Claslan has a not so new fan HERE, since I've been listening to them since Leah recommended it.
LEAH THANK YOU SO MUCH! Congrats and I love youuuuuuuuuu!
Thanks for spoiling us so much! You are my fave! But don't tell Az please!

Enough with me freaking out. Here's what I got this week:

Divergent by Veronica Roth
Indeed a bittersweet purchase but I'm thankful the book even came here and now I'm finally going to be able to read about the famous 'Four'.

My Reading Pile

My reading pile is an idea created by Fiktshun in which you share what your reads for the week are or well the wishful reads-rereads-rerereads and well you get the hint. Check her blog out you know I'm a devoted stalker, I mean, follower ;)

MRP progress & status:
I haven't even thought about what I'll be reading. Elections are tomorrow(Sunday) here in my country and it becomes chaos, literally.
Anyway. I just hope to get to review My Soul to Save and if ANY of you is currently re-reading the Soul Screamers series along for the SSRC please tell me I'm having a serious case of hyperventilation because I have no one to talk to right now who has actually read them all before up to If I Die.

Netgalley Pile Adds:
Didn't request for any books on NG though I did get rejected for a Something Like Normal galley T________T I told you guys...and I was so looking forward to it because I just know I won't be able to get the book.

That's it for me guys!

-review- Chain Reaction by Simone Elkeles

-Alex's mom, sitting in the front row, has her head bent as if she's watching an ant on the ground and it's the most interesting thing she's ever seen. I think I just saw her crossing herself.-

Wow, long time no see dear Simone Elkeles's books!
This is the final book on the Perfect Chemistry trilogy and though I read it a while back I hadn't been in any mood to write a review. Until now.
I'll make it short and simple.
I think this book had the best writing from the 3. Came even closer to how we Latinos relly are. And what better way to take a peek at us than from Luis Fuentes himself and Nikki *_*

I am such a stinker for the Fuentes brothers is not even funny. I love how they all want to show off just the rough edges of their personalities and little bro Luis couldn't help but follow the steps of older brothers Carlos and Alex. And can I just say I LOVE LOVE the first chapters from Luis' POV? lol They were absolutely hilarious.

Oh God. I did NOT see ANY of the things that happen in the book coming. NOT ONE SINGLE THING. They took me completely by surprise...from Luis...becoming lol to just you know...OTHER things...
I really am happy for how things played on both Luis and Nikki's lives I don't think I could have handled it if Simone had left us with a cliffhanger for an ending to the trilogy. I'd be dead by now.

-I'm constantly trying to determine which of my emotions is centered on reality.-

But I know you'll hate me for this. Again, I felt myself really getting into the book sighing and tearing up and smiling when out of nowhere comes a sentence or an expression or even just a word in spanish that completely broke the flow of the story for me, because it was hard to imagine that really happening when I know in the real world it DOESN'T happen at I HATE HATE HATE that that happens to me. I would've liked not being a latina for the day it took me to read each of these books so I could say that the books are simply perfect. Sadly, I still am a those little phrases really broke the mood and had me wanting the scenes just to finish.
This happened less in this book than the other 2.

-"You takin' notes, Kiara?"
"I'm too busy w-w-watching your muscles flex," she says.-

Other than that. I am FOREVER RUINED for any other boys out here.
The littlest Fuentes brother is the cutest thing and the wickedest and just plain amazing.
Discovering what he discovers and loving what he loves and most importantly being able to see how he comes to accept and love himself was beautiful!
Please read the books! I promise you won't be disappointed!
~So much for making it short and simple.~

I give this book
5fotitos=~sobs hard~too good to be true!

Special THANK YOU to Grace @Peace, Love, Teen Fiction. THANKS THANKS THANKS for offering me this book *___* I LOVED it thank you so much!

First, this picture isn't mine. It was taken a while ago by either one of our english teachers at the Academy or by a classmate.
I didn't want to edit anything because I just really really thought it'd be really fun to share exactly how it is with our english book under the eraser and everything.
We both, Michelle(My favorite friend in class up until the time she abandoned me and changed schedules) and I always needed it for our horrific mistakes on english class PLUS...I've been reading a lot of posts by authors and it seems March is the month for editions or drafts or first drafts or just a lot of mistakes being un-mistaked-NEW WORD-
Hehehe, silly me. Anyways. This is the picture for today!

Have fun ;)

IMM #18 & MRP #6

IMM is hosted by The Story Siren I looove love her blog! So you really should check it out!

Yey! Got a book in the mail this week!
I'm so excited because this book is completely different from any other book I've ever read but I knew my mom would love it. And even though she doesn't know much english I know that she would appreciate me telling her the story...Yes, she LOVES to hear from the books I read. Funny, she's into hearing the YA stories I read but not actually into reading them. LOL My mom's special!
Anyway, enough with the rambling...
Here's the book I got this week!

Trieste by Dasa Drndic
Goodreads doesn't have a description or blurb from the book, but I know it has a lot of history and war in it...
I have to thank Misty from Bookaholics Book Club she's the one that got this book in her mail box a couple of months ago and said that since it wasn't her kind of read she'd give it to whoever wanted it...So *_________* know the rest.
It's here Misty! Thank you so very very much! I LOOOOOVE the book jacket like a lot!
I can't wait for you to post your next IMM!

My Reading Pile #6

My reading pile is an idea created by Fiktshun in which you share what your reads for the week are or well the wishful reads-rereads-rerereads and well you get the hint. Check her blog out you know I'm a devoted stalker, I mean, follower ;)

MRP progress & status:
I've been sick, really really sick. So, of course I wasn't going to get to read whatever books I said I wanted to read on my last MRP.
Okay, I admit I DID finish The BDB book #4 & #5 (Lover Revealed & Lover Unbound respectively) they're quite addictive...But I couldn't even finish the first page of My Soul To Save...Time's running out for me to get the reading done in time for the SSRC~left sidebar.~

So, My Soul to Save is still on the pile and joining it will be:

Lover Enshrined by J.R. Ward -BDB #6-
~I've already started this one...almost halfway through it now.~

I'm not completely healthy yet but I'm really hoping I do get to finish the Soul Screamers read this week.

Netgalley Pile Adds:
Wow, I completely broke my Netgalley ban this week. Yesterday I saw that one book I'm really looking forward to read was over NG so...Off I went and sent a request.
The book's Something Like Normal by Trish Doller. I couldn't help myself and went through a little bit of their catalog's new adds and ended up requesting one promo book Grave Mercy by Robin LaFevers, which I only even thought about reading because Rachel @My Reading Pile had added it to her pile -_- I stink, I know...And I also got approved for Lies Beneath by Anne Greenwood Brown. Enough review books, for now.
I'm not going to fool myself and believe I'll get approved for Trish's book but I really really am crossing my fingers...I've wanted that book for so long...I really can't wait for it's release!
That's it for me ^_^

What did YOU guys get in your mail box this week?

-review- Incarnate by Jodi Meadows

-"Saying I never thought about it would be a lie, but it doesn't change how I feel. Ana, you make me ache in places that aren't even physical."-

When I received a copy as a christmas present last year I literally cried. I couldn't believe I was going to be able to read the book whose cover I married~digitally~and whose author I've stalked even before the cover of the book was released.
Now why, you ask, did I take so long to review this book.
Let me tell has been HARD to come up with even some remote ideas and thoughts to share with you this day... Just from the cover I wanted it to be perfect and I never actually wanted to read the description or blurb.

So let me tell you my thoughts on this book.

-...he played the most amazing thing my ears had ever heard. Like waves on a lakeshore, and wind through trees. There were lightning strikes, thunder, and pattering rain. Heat and anger, and honey sweetness.
I'd never heard this music before. There seemed no room to breathe around my swollen heart as the music grew, made me ache inside.-

All of you that are constant readers of my reviews know this one thing, my weakness...when a book has the TITTLE somehow written inside the story or it's justified in the story? That makes it PERFECT for me, but then my ultimate weakness is if the COVER of the book has actually a meaning in the story and for me and Incarnate? Ladies and gentlemen! Oh God! BOTH were mentioned and justified inside the book and for that I'm a million times grateful!
I loved Ana since the beginning of the book, simply because I always root for those who don't have anyone rooting for them!
The world Jodi created is creepy and cold and plain awesome. I could picture everything perfectly! And her writing is FRESH I found myself devouring the first half of the book...but then for some reason it slowed down for me...I really don't know why or how...maybe because I had too many expectations and was too excited, anyways...
MUSIC, oh lord, MUSIC plays such an important part in the book that if I could hug Jodi Meadows right now I'd instantly do it!

-My throat itched from nerves, and I wish we'd brought water. But then I'd probably drink it all at once and have to pee for the rest of the meeting.-

Ana along with Sam and Music...prove to us once again...that immortality's everywhere around us...if you could just up and listen...many people are immortal...not all...but a lot...Ana's love of music and the courage she has to overcome the differences that make her the only newsoul/nosoul in Heart-which may I add it's a really creepy creepy and scary and weird place- made me instantly happy.

-He hesitated, and his voice lowered like he didn't want the wind to hear.-

The story flows smoothly for the most the end I got attacked by a lot of information...but those attacks were welcome so don't worry.
I really can't come up with more than;
This story is full of new, new souls, new views, new ideas, new places, new loves...
Packed with dragons and sylphs and a white tower that I am completely scared of...
Jodi Meadows made me want to wear mittens 24/7 -I live in a tropical country- *_*
Music fills the empty spaces, the silent moments, making the wrong rights and Heart a slightly less scary place to live in.
I got to listen to the music of fears...
And, possible

I give this book

4fotitos=genious crying.

Special thank you to Grace @Peace, Love, Teen Fiction *____* this wouldn't even be possible if you hadn't sent me this gift T_T I'm forever grateful!

Yes, that green thingy is a special something ;)
